The huge honking tree is still in the road, no sign of the power company. The local tv news came yesterday and sat there for six hours for that story and froze their butts off. Now they're talkling virtually full restoration by Sunday nght. Sunday?! ARGH!  Day 5 and I'm starting to get testy.

I feel for you...I use to live in Miami and lost power on more than one occassion during hurricanes...5 days during Wilma. It's so frustrating, inconvenient, and crappy. At least it might have been stinking hot and humid but not cold.

Here's hoping they beat the deadline!

I heard it is fairly desperate in many areas still.........
What I could NOT believe was some dufus parents sent their kids out Trick or Treating in the midst of down power lines and all sorts of other hazards........
What part of that makes sense?

Our Halloween got postponed til Saturday. No, if I had a kid I wouldn't send them out into the dark with tree branches everywhere and downed wires.

the power company came, they hacked up the tree (but left it). but.... the road above us has power, and the road below us just got power. we're in a friggin black hole!

they got the tree removed, but we're still without power while ALL the roads around us have power!

they took the tree apart (but left it on side of road). now to get power. everybody else has power but our road, gah!

Oh I hate that, when the power goes out and there's no sign of what's going on especially when you're the loan island of blackness in the midst of lights - where's the logic? I thought these things were supposed to be laid out in a grid pattern? lol
Hope everything is back on by today at the latest.

I think it depends on what needs done in order to complete power restoration. On our road it meant replacing 4-5 poles!
