Noooooooooooo! USA Network kills 4400

Curses, darn, drat!

Multichannel reports that USA Network axed the scifi show The 4400. A quote... "We wish we could keep all our great shows alive forever, but we feel we need to give some of our new shows a platform to grow,” Jeff Wachtel, USA executive vice president of original programming, said in a statement. “It's with great sadness that we say goodbye to two shows that had a great run and helped create the resurgence of original programming on our network and on all of cable.”

I've been seeing ads on USA for a new season of The 4400 starting Jan 9 (or so). Have you heard anything about that?

Oh, really? Here I am watching a L&O marathon on USA and not a single ad for 4400 but tons for NCIS.Hmm, nothing on the tv guide schedule yet.

4400 was one of the few reasons besides SGA I keep the expensive cable. I hope they'll try to wrap things up - I remember reading somewhere they had originally planned for this to run 5-7 years (although some changes were made early on - like revealing what the purpose of the 4400 was).

Yeah, that's the ONLY plus. More Lorne on SGA, but Kavan could always get another role too. After all, sporadic SGA guest spots don't pay the rent ;)

Oh, I wish I could remember where I found that little stomping critter icon. I love it! I save it for when I'm really ticked off, and well, cancelling 4400 ticked me off. I bet they put more money into reality crap.

They got rid of the 4400 and the Dead Zone, I think they're screwing themselves. I liked both shows, and them and Burn Notice was the only reason I even watched USA.

Dead Zone lost me in the last year, so I must admit I saw it coming as I'd read somewhere this was probably the final season, but 4400 definitely had a lot of steam left. I kept forgetting to watch Burn Notice. At this rate, I'll have to find DVDs when they come out, or hope for a day long marathon.

Well, if they'd put the damn things on at a regular time, and kept regular seasons, they'd get more watchers! When I can't figure out who's on when, I'm not going to bother.

And LIFETIME!! Where the hell is Blood Ties, and why can I never find it in the listings?

Blood Ties was airing Friday nights after SGA. So, the line up was Moonlight, SGA, and then Blood Ties.

But, for some weird ass reason, Lifetime decided that they weren't going to air the last ep and only have it like online. At least, that was the last bit I'd heard via somewhere as what Tanya Huff reported on her LJ. (That reminds me, I need to find her LJ & tag it, so I can see what news there is!)

What can I say about USA - it's owned by the same mega-corp that owns Sci-Fi & we all know that these people don't live in reality. Bonnie Hammer (Q.B.I.C. of Sci-Fi) has more than once demonstrated that fact when talking to the media! *sigh*

4400 I lost track of, again, because of inconsistent scheduling - same with Dead Zone. One week we'd be having new eps on Sunday night, the next 3 weeks it either wouldn't be on, or it would be in repeats.
