ARCHERSANGEL: Who from SG-1 would you like to see again on SGA?

 

Amanda: Wow, Archersangel? That’s a cute -- cool tag. We’ve had Chris – Teal’c – come over so I’d love to have Daniel come over and visit. And of course, I’d always be happy to see Jack. He’s in Washington so maybe when he retires, he’ll come pay me a little visit in the Pegasus Galaxy. Just putting it out there, Rick (grins), if you’re not busy. Yeah, I’d love to see, somehow, by some miracle, Doctor Fraiser, who I know has passed on, and I would be so freakin’ happy to have Teryl Rothery on the set. That would be cool.

SOFIE: How did your fear of heights affect your work on “Trio”?

 

(starts off with clip from “Trio” of Carter climbing up a stack of boxes trying to get to a hole in the ceiling, while McKay and Keller assist/watch)

 

Amanda: Okay, Sofie, I had to suck it up. And really, for the most part, I was pretty good. We had riggers and so we were tied in most of the time. The one time that I panicked and actually froze was in between these two beams.  And I’m on a plank and I’m, you know, I don’t know how far up in the air. I think it was about 150 feet, but in reality, probably about fifteen, but I actually froze. I actually turned to David Hewlett and went ‘I can’t move’ and then I looked at Jewel and she was giving me this very sympathetic look and I said ‘I can’t move’ and the rigger had to come crawling across the plank and pull me back because I couldn’t turn around. (laughs) I’m up on the plank going ‘Martin, I can’t do it.’ And it’s funny because Carter is the only person, of the three of us that’s not afraid of heights. Keller and McKay are supposed to be deathly afraid of heights and Jewel and David were like lounging on the beams and totally relaxed and I’m like (makes face of fear) trying to look confident, so, it was fun.

WRAITHFODDER: Without you, what do you thing has become or the SG-1 crew? (Sci Fi needs to hire a proofreader ;)  I’d asked “With Sam running Atlantis, what has become of the SG1 team?”)

 

Amanda: (answered in a very, dry serious manner, although obviously not serious!) They have fallen apart. With Sam running Atlantis, the SG-1 team has – I think Daniel’s a complete alcoholic. Teal’s has just gotten fat. I think he’s like that guy you see on Dr. Phil, where he’s lying in his bed and he’s about a thousand pounds and he can’t get up, and uh, he’s eating a lot of donuts (clip of Teal’c and Ronon having lunch – Teal’c says ‘I must confess, however, that I am partial to the tator tots. Let us speak of other things.’) So that’s Teal’c. Uh. Cameron Mitchell finally went crazy after that whole Antarctic experience. He finally lost it. He just went—you know, kind of like he did in “Unending.” He went nuts. So he’s in a sanatorium, for the criminally insane, having busted a few noses in the control room. They’ve fallen apart, really. General Landry, I think. I think he’s just so chronically depressed without Sam around that he doesn’t talk to anyone. He just shuffles through the halls of the SGC. It’s pretty sad over there, actually. You should go check it out. (laughs) Sam’s so cocky. The whole team fell apart without me. Truthfully, they’re just hanging out. They haven’t replaced me because I won’t let them, but they’re hanging out. (mock hurt expression) Probably saving the galaxy still, without me. (giggles)

Really miss the original Sg1 and all of the team dynamic. I truly hope that Daniel can visit Sam...maybe several times at Atlantis.

Thanks Wraithfodder, I always enjoy reading the stuff you take the time to put on here for us. :) Amanda's a trooper. I knew she had a fear of heights from JM's blog, but hearing her tell it and see her re-living the moment, I have a much greater appreciation for her now. She faced her fear head-on! No small achievement. But when she fell, it would've been great if she had fallen on McKay. lol
