'Stargate Atlantis' star David Hewlett to wed in England

TORONTO (PGN) Actor David Hewlett will tie the knot next month at a mediaeval castle in England.

The 40-year-old, who plays Dr. Rodney McKay on the sci-fi series Stargate Atlantis, will marry Jane Loughman at Warwick Castle, located about eight miles from Stratford, on June 27. The two were engaged on Christmas Day in 2006 and welcomed their first child together, Sebastian Flynn, last October.

This will be the second marriage for Hewlett, who divorced Soo Garay in 2004 after less than four years.

Though born in Surrey, England, Hewlett has lived and worked in Canada for most of his life. His credits include homegrown series like Traders and Street Legal and he formerly ran a Toronto-based Internet company.

Hewlett recently wrapped the feature film Helen with Ashley Judd and Goran Visnjic in Vancouver, where Stargate Atlantis is produced.

Well, I know he's doing a con because I'm going to it on the 28th June. And I'm nearly 99.9% certain that somewhere in his blog he talks about it, esp the part about it being set in a castle.

I knew he was scheduling the con dates around the wedding, though I was pretty sure the wedding was earlier in June than that (He mentioned the date in an eariler blog entry somewhere around June 11th or thereabouts)

It makes sense he would only fly over once... and that it would be during the show's hiatus, which is usually late June. It's too bad the person published all the details. You gotta know some nutjobs will show up at the castle for a peek. I hope David and Jane have good security arranged!

Iremember him mentioning a castle but they can't be getting married at Warwick Castle (i live in that area) and it's not registered for marriages. You have to get married elsewhere, but you can have a reception there. I'm hoping that's a total smokescreen.

I checked because i did wanted anyone catching me out on old info - it seems Warwick still isn't registered for marriages.

David has posted on his site/blog that this information is WRONG!!!!!!!

But to be fair I think that it would be wrong of fan's to try and crash his wedding just to get an autograph.

It's his and Jane's day so I think that fan's should respect his privacy.
