Cat escapes! Film at eleven!

When we got the cat as a kitten, he was standoff-ish, shoving away and not liking to be held. I thought, okay, I'm a stranger, he'll grow out of it. Well, nearly a decade later, he hasn't changed. When he doesn't want to be held, that' s it. And this video is after about ten seconds of being held. I was lucky to have caught it as the digital camera was just there, I was aiming sight unseen. And yes, his eyes are that blue. Seems sorta appropriate a "Pet Meds" ad was playing on the TV in the background ;)  Enjoy.!

Nah, he's only 9 pounds max. Just looks sorta big there I guess :) Oooh, cute LJ icon, by the way :)

Oh, he is a cutie. Love the little guy, even if he does scream in my face for food, plant his butt in my face in the morning, leave dead mice on the rug... ;)

It is amazing how jell-o like cats can become when they don't want to be held. At least you didn't get scratched. And what a pitiful sound.

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2008-05-12 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, it's his usual pitiful sound. He's perfected it, especially when he wants fed! ;)

Hehhehheh. Cats are such brats. And I say that with lots of love towards them.

That's a sound only a siamese could make...

Oh, definitely!

I once came across a quote "Cats were once worshipped as deities. They have not forgotten this." I think it's especially true for Siamese. Love how cats manage to perfect their cries to get your attention.

We're just their slaves...

Blue-eyed Siamese

I'm a blue-eyed part Siamese. Meezer, I guess you humans call it. BTW, I’d like to tell you that my hilariously funny book, The World Is Your Litter Box, is in bookstores now and is also available on Amazon. The book is cleverly disguised as a cute cat book so humans will buy it, but is, in fact, a how-to manual FOR cats. Check it out on my website, www.theworldisyourlitterbox.com

Heh, yeah, it is a cute book from what I saw :)

Siamese cats tend not to like being held, they have a naturally grumpy temperament I think. I have the opposite problem with my two, its a case of trying to stop them clambering on your lap, they just constantly want cuddles. My tom cat is just a big softie you can pick him up turn him upside down, give him bear hugs and he'll still keep purring.

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2008-05-13 11:48 am (UTC)(link)
well, he can be VERY loving when he wants to be, usually when I'm watching TV and he decides sitting in front of me and blocking the view of the TV is appropriate...

[identity profile] a-pilgrim-soul.livejournal.com 2008-05-13 12:06 pm (UTC)(link)
How dare you watch TV, you should know that your cat is the centre of the universe and deserves your full attention at all times. *lol* Cat's definitely don't like being ignored and they do like their interaction with their pet humans to be on their terms.

Yeah, yeah,i know, I was bad. However, I let him crawl under the covers to get warm and sit on my pillow so what more does he want? Well, lots, really ;)

[identity profile] sg1scribe.livejournal.com 2008-05-13 11:38 am (UTC)(link)
My cat is the same. He'll tolerate hugging for about 10 seconds, and only if he knows dinner will follow. He can be quite affectionate when he wants to be, though.

Ahaha, that looks familiar, right down to wiggling-between-legs *has deep scars on chest and well, everywhere* You're the first person I "know" who has a Siamese, but I read esp. toms are like that.

I've only got a few scars luckily ;)

That's a great vid - I love Siamese cats (but after reading some of Doreen Tovey's books, I think I'll pass on owning one - hers were mental - in the nicest possible way, of course!).

I love the sounds they make - very vocal cats apparently!

If you want to read a great book about a Siamese cat, try Kym by JOyce Stranger (and, of course, the Doreen Tovey books).

Pity he doesn't want to be held though...

Gotta admit all the Siamese we've had seem to be ... odd... this one is only slightly psycho ;)

[identity profile] nosurething2.livejournal.com 2008-05-14 04:05 pm (UTC)(link)
ROFL.......

[identity profile] parislove27.livejournal.com 2008-05-14 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
He's like my siamese cat! They can be very loving at times, but hate to sit still for more than ten seconds.

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2008-05-15 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
Siamese cats are definitely a breed apart ;)

[identity profile] parislove27.livejournal.com 2008-05-15 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
I'll say! :D Their eyes are so darn pretty though! That definitely sets the apart.

What a cute video, Siamese are great for being uppity in their demeanor, lol. My cat is a cross between a Siamese and a American Domestic Short-hair and has the face of a Siamese and the body coloring of White and Grey. He is great fun and keeps our Diluted Tortiepoint Siamese on her toes.

Thank you for sharing.
