Something all cat owners should know: Cat CPR! (instructional video)

Yes, every once in a while you, a cat owner, will be called upon to perform CPR upon your kitty. Now, it's very easy to do. Just simply follow the instructional video.... *cough*

Heh, it's CPR - 'critical purring resuscitation' ;) and my cat loves it, as you can hear :)

I miss having Siamese cats around, they were always so talkative.

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2008-10-18 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
that's one thing i do love about siamese, even if they are a bit unhinged ;)

[identity profile] gatedialer.livejournal.com 2008-10-18 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
No kidding. I used to have four of them!

[identity profile] gatedialer.livejournal.com 2008-10-18 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
Oh was it ever! In the middle of the frakking night I would hear them (they slept with me) each time I moved or attempted to move. When I woke up they would cackle. I miss it really. My cat now (snowshoe) is not talkative but he chirps and that is cute.

[identity profile] gatedialer.livejournal.com 2008-10-18 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it is difficult to explain. Its a cross between a meow and a bird chirping. Richard Norton on youtube has a great video of one of his Bengals chriping. Tybalt's chirp is not as dramatic but more of a meow-chirp lol

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2008-10-18 11:19 am (UTC)(link)
oh oh. i can see myself going to youtube to check out 'cats chirping'. noooo, must do errands today!

[identity profile] flingslass.livejournal.com 2008-10-18 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
What about the mouth to mouth bit? euyuch!

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2008-10-18 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
well, luckily he doesn't need mouth to mouth to start purring ;) hey, I KNOW where that tongue's been! ;)

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2008-10-19 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
Oh my, check out this mouth to mouth shot!

Yuck, yuck, yuck. I grew up on a farm and Dad wouldn't let us have the animals touch our faces because of animal cooties that you could catch. Now I can't look at pictures like that because it's WRONG! :D

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2008-10-19 05:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I've been caught in the mouth once or twice by cat or dog tongue, but then I rush off to get mouthwash!

[identity profile] flingslass.livejournal.com 2008-10-20 10:40 am (UTC)(link)
No, no, no! I'm already in therapy. Do you want to do more damage? :D

[identity profile] libra-traveller.livejournal.com 2008-10-18 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
LOL, you're always so silly.

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2008-10-18 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
It's been a looooongggg week, so coming home to the cat NOt screeching in my ears for food was nice for a change ;)

[identity profile] gatedialer.livejournal.com 2008-10-18 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
Don't you love coming home from a crappy day/week and your cat is all over you for headbutts and purrs? I love that.

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2008-10-18 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
Mine will wake up, then go "FEED ME!" even though he has food. He likes to headbutt me in bed though, or step on my neck. He likes to do that. I think he's trying to do me in sometimes! ;)

[identity profile] gatedialer.livejournal.com 2008-10-18 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
Mine does that too! He will have food and water in his bowl and have the audacity to meow and meow until I walk over there and he has fresh food and water. I just look at him and say "what do you want?! You have water and munchies!" (yes,I talk to my cat lol) I have to pick some of it up and drop it. When he hears that then the butthead eats.

He also likes to smack me in the face at night, so not cool as I have trouble falling asleep only to be woken by my cat's smack to the face.

well, sometimes this one pokes his claws into my face. ouch!

love kitties :)

[identity profile] erin-anderson.livejournal.com 2008-10-18 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
Gods yes Siames's and their purring. My Siamese purrs at the drop of a hat (or a finger or whatever). She just purrs cause I came home! She also likes to crawl up on my pillow at 6 AM on some mornings (or whatever time she decides her food bowl is empty) and purr VERY LOUDLY in my ear. I do love my Siamese though and she is EXTREMELY talkative and needy and demanding and....I also have two others, a black and white spotted and a VERY fat orange one. The B&W chirps and the orange one meows very plaintively like I am stabbing her with a spork on the very rare occasion when she feels I am not paying enough attention to her. Awww I love my kitties! *goes to snuggle*

Cats are so much fun. I'm cooking mine under the lamp right now. He loves the heat from the lightbulb. Alas, he has me very well trained ;)

[identity profile] alyssa22.livejournal.com 2008-10-18 01:21 pm (UTC)(link)
So cute. And that's a very quiet siamese, I must say. Mine would be meowing and purring at the same time.. Poor old Kizzy. She was a very vocal little girl!

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2008-10-18 08:12 pm (UTC)(link)
well, one day I'll get him SCREAMING and you can hear just how loud he gets ;)

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_inbetween_/ 2008-10-18 01:34 pm (UTC)(link)
OH yeah, I love how the sound changes when I squish them.

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2008-10-18 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh, yeah, they get louder ;)

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_inbetween_/ 2008-10-18 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup, instant amplification.*

* CAUTION: repeated application of squeezes to change the purring amplitude may lead to punctures of the limbs, torso and face of the squisher.

That's one weird but happy cat there!! *bg*

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2008-10-18 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, siamese = weird ;)

(Anonymous) 2008-10-18 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Loved it we have four cats all different, youngest one purrs just because you look at him.

I tried that on Tika today and she just, um, farted.

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2008-10-19 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe it only works on Siamese??

[identity profile] negolith2.livejournal.com 2008-10-19 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
Hmmmm. Possibly. She is a Manx - 8 pounds of compact, sassy, muscular toot, er, 'tude. Might work on Mortimer, he's part Siamese.

Kitteh!

Awww that is so cute.
