Oooh, I saw a movie being made today!

Well, not quite. I did drive by it, as it was clogging and blocking a road I normally take on my commute, which then funneled me down a way I try to avoid, as it's always congested and of course, was worse today due to this filming. However, did find out that the film is Wes Craven's 25/8, a horror flick about a serial killer and some kids. I checked IMDB and only recognized one name in the cast, but apparently they've been bopping all over the state this year filming the movie. Didn't see any actors as I drove by, but did see crew doing crew type stuff, honeywagons, trailers for the cast, and loads of vehicles.

Blast, why can't David Hewlett make a movie in my  neck of the woods? I'd put him up at my place for free! :)

I recognize the "fake" Todd from One life to Live and the Painter from Batteries Not Included.

For a second i"m going "Fake Todd"? There was a fake Todd on SGA? And then went ohhhhh. soap opera! ;)

So where is this movie being made? You live in my area I believe.

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2008-12-06 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
Was. I found a newspaper article which said it was one day :( Darn, well, not that I want to redo my commute to work either! ;)

Ah, couldn't find the newspaper link again - was a bear to locate - but found this - http://www.cultureandtourism.org/cct/cwp/view.asp?a=2125&q=419744 - saw them at Cranbury Park.

well, i drove past it, that's it. had to work (glad I have a job in this economy!). however, you can watch clips of them blowing up a truck for this film on YouTube, probably a lot more dramatic than what they did today. do you get cablevision? they had a bit on their channel 12 news tonight.

[identity profile] timespirt.livejournal.com 2008-12-06 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, I do get news 12. Will check out before midnight and it changes.

If you don't catch it, let me know. I recorded it so could probably make a primitive xfer to YouTube ;)

[identity profile] timespirt.livejournal.com 2008-12-06 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you, I will if I don't see it.

Maybe your not in my area? Thought you lived on Long Island? I could have sworn you were the one talking about the opening of the new Tanger Outlets in the Commack area?

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2008-12-06 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
What the heck is a Tangers? Nope, only been to Long Island once.

[identity profile] timespirt.livejournal.com 2008-12-06 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
You have to have those outlet stores by you? That's what Tanger is, outlet stores. Now I wonder where i read that then?

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2008-12-06 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
Nah, outlet stores are way up the road. We have a Target that just opened in a mall...

[identity profile] timespirt.livejournal.com 2008-12-06 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
Man, we have three of these things within a half hour or so drive of each other within Suffolk County all named Tanger. We have plenty of malls too. LOL

Ah :)

We have had lots of movies filmed in my state of CT, the last on being the last Indy movie in New Haven.

Years ago I saw a movie being made called Jack Knife and got to see Ed Harris semi close.

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2008-12-06 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I remember when Indy was filming up in New Haven. WHY can't they film on the weekends so I can go up there and watch? (Plus not clog the roads during the weekday commute!)

[identity profile] jedi40.livejournal.com 2008-12-06 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess they had to let the shop owners have some time to do more business so they got the weekends.

Or maybe the owners were payed more for the weekday use of the streets.

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2008-12-06 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Or working weekends might mean time and a half for crew...

[identity profile] jedi40.livejournal.com 2008-12-06 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Or that...

[identity profile] nebbyjen.livejournal.com 2008-12-06 05:44 am (UTC)(link)
Isn't it neat to find a movie crew out and about in your hometown?! Especially when you don't live in the main hub-bub... Last summer part of our beach was closed off for Viggo Mortenson and Charlize Theron's new movie 'The Road'. But, like you, why couldn't it have been DH or some other member of Atlantis here instead?

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2008-12-06 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Cool! I have no idea which actors were at this film shoot, but in looking at the IMDB, it's not a 'star' cast, so to speak. WOuld be cool if an SGA actor showed up here! ANd preferably, when I had advance notice so I can call in sick, or take a vacation day ;)

Maybe you should offer, he might take you up on it!! *g*

Or he might run screaming from the crazy fangirl!!! *vbg*

(You stand more chance than me... Do you think he'd ever have reason to film in England - and not in London, but Derby?!!)

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2008-12-06 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Probably more in Derby than here! ;) Well, I could offer him a dog to squeeze and play with, or a cat, plus I do have computers, and as a geek he'd probably love the basement full of electronic stuff ;) (yes, yes, must delude myself that he would not run screaming from all this) ;)
