Stargate Atlantis - "Vegas" Q&A with Robert Cooper

Hopefully this will turn out better than Mallozzi's other guest bloggers. ;) Anyway, Joe Mallozzi said on his blog today :

Allow me to start off today’s entry with some exciting news - before, of course, seguing right back into the tedious offerings that typify this blog. Executive Producer/Writer/Co-Creator Robert Cooper has agreed to come by an field your questions about his piece de resistance, his chef d’oeuvre, his hors d’oeuvre and Atlantis swansong: Vegas. Yep, gather up all your queries regarding alternate universe theory and nippleless wraith and start posting because, very soon, ALL WILL BE REVEALED!

So, if you have questions or rants or whatever, toodle on over to

Wow, how many of the same questions do you think he'll get and do you think he'll handle them better than Brad Wright? :D

I'd hope that RCC has a better attitude towards fans than Brad Wright.

Well I hope that people will just stick to asking questions about Vegas, that is what the Q&A supposed to be about. Personally the whole argument about the cancellation is getting old, yes Brad Wright's Q&A pissed me off, not because of what he said but because of attitude while saying it, but all this nastiness is just driving people away from the fandom in droves.

Yeah, it's not the answers but the attitude that is driving away people (same in the way that some whacko fans drive other fans from a fandom cuz it's just not worth it).

The show's cancelled; I just hope they give it a good movie, as honestly, I don't think they'll do more than one movie :(

am I really the only one who thought a number of the questions to Brad were unfathomably rude? Poorly phrased? Even, dare I say, childish?

I actually thought Brad did quite well, considering.

I agree with the one movie bit. Vegas was somewhat of a disappointment for me, I watched it but found myself wanting to watch something else. I love this show but I just did not find many episodes after the midseason two-parter that interesting (as painfully as it is to saw that lol).

Eh, he was under no obligation to acknowledge or answer them - I must admit I would have preferred if he'd taken the high road and ignored any questions that rankled him rather than answer them in the erm, 'style' that he choose.

well, seems Brad had some spare time stuck at an airport and replied to the fans on GW's JM thread, although part of it doesn't make sense to me, but eh, it's interesting to read nonetheless.

I still maintain that he should have taken the higher road, if nothing else, read JM's comments and realized that yes, TPTB are sitting ducks for fans. It's always been that way, with virtually every show out there, especially if TPTB decide to enter the fans' playground, so to speak.

He made a post over at GW about the Q&A at

What? I missed that too...

I hope it is a good movie too. I agree that unless some miracle happens, 1 is probably all we will get.

I think part of my reasoning is that a lot boils down to finances. Will an SGA DVD movie pull in enough for the folks at MGM to go "yeah, let's do another!" And who knows, the actors could go onto bigger and better and suddenly, well, no longer available (I can hope, although if Joe Flanigan does a giant CGI squid movie made in Romania, I'll watch it) ;)
