FIFTH EPISODE OF SUMMER SENSATION WAREHOUSE 13 BECOMES MOST-WATCHED ORIGINAL SERIES TELECAST IN SYFY'S 17-YEAR HISTORY

#1 Cable Program of The Night with Adults 18-49, Adults 25-54 and Total Viewers

New York, NY August 24, 2009 The Warehouse in South Dakota might need a new wing to house all of the records that the series is achieving. By adding nearly one million viewers from Live + 7 DVR playback, (985,000), the fifth episode of Syfy's summer sensation Warehouse 13, became the most watched original series telecast in Syfy's 17-year history, delivering 4.3 million total viewers.

The August 4 telecast entitled "Elements," with guest star Joe Flanigan, also scored series highs with 1.8 million Adults 18-49, while garnering 2.2 million Adults 25-54 (the series' second highest performance in this demo) and posting a 3.0 Household rating.

Do you suppose the PTB at Siffy-less will catch a clue that we tuned in for The Flan, and perhaps they should not have dropped his series? :D

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2009-08-25 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
I almost hope the next episode goes DOWN in the ratings and that's the ony episode that achieves the high rating ;)

[identity profile] syble4.livejournal.com 2009-08-25 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
Well, considering how bad the story writing was, it probably did.

[identity profile] sky3428.livejournal.com 2009-08-25 08:29 am (UTC)(link)
Alas, Joe's episode was #4 in the queue. It's second highest to episode #5, which was way better than 4, story-wise. But hooray for JF boosting the ratings. He's definitely brought more viewers into the series. Wonder how many of them are new to JF and only stopped to check out the hottie!

[identity profile] kriadydragon.livejournal.com 2009-08-25 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
Hee-hee! I love the irony, because that was not WH13's best episode IMO. But Joe made it worth it :D

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2009-08-25 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
Alas, none of the eps have really grabbed me, but Joe, well, he grabbed me!

[identity profile] syble4.livejournal.com 2009-08-25 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
Lets hope the figure out it was Joe we were watching.

Yup.

Hmph. They didn't even mention James Naughton. I tuned in for him. 'Spose I'm dating myself.

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2009-08-25 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
Heck, no, I remember him from, oh wow, your icon! :)

YAY! Not many people remember that show! I own the whole tv series on DVD, so I was able to rewatch and treat Brilliant Husband to it!

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2009-08-25 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah it was on CBS, Friday nights, I think. I used to watch it all the time, then of course, it got axed.

[identity profile] the-scary-kitty.livejournal.com 2009-08-25 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
Heh. That was the only episode W13 that I've tuned in for. ;)

[identity profile] cimmerdeux.livejournal.com 2009-08-25 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
That was the only episode I watched all the way through without doing something else. Yay Joe! Get that man another series people! He has a built in fan base. And yes, it was nice to James Naughton again too. I liked the Planet of the Apes series.

[identity profile] timespirt.livejournal.com 2009-08-25 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
It was the only ep I could sit through. The series is not really that great. Well, maybe in there own minds.

Also:

For anyone that has the UHD channel (Universal HD) on cable the pilot for First Monday with Joe Flanigan is scheduled for 9/04/09 10:00 pm EST as per TIVO.

Oh, that's really hilarious! Yay for JF, boo for TPTB at Syfy who couldn't see what a great thing they had in SG: Atlantis. Thanks for sharing the news!

[identity profile] mantriddrone.livejournal.com 2009-08-25 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
the show is no x-files but its pretty watchable and mildly entertaining. I'm enjoying it despite the terrible pilot episode

[identity profile] katikat.livejournal.com 2009-08-25 07:29 am (UTC)(link)
Please, SyFy, catch a clue! It's Joe Flanigan people want to see! Give him at least a movie!

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2009-08-27 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, if they could just film that Spielberg scifi movie if it becomes a show in LA and get Joe on it...

[identity profile] katikat.livejournal.com 2009-08-27 10:11 am (UTC)(link)
I thought that Noah Wyle will be starring in that one?

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2009-08-27 12:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, but I sure wouldn't mind seeing Joe in it, but yeah, would be nice to see Joe topline a series again.

[identity profile] xxsafixx.livejournal.com 2009-08-25 11:08 am (UTC)(link)
hope someone catches the clue here:D

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2009-08-27 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
We can hope...

[identity profile] chensuu.livejournal.com 2009-08-25 01:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Hurray for the Flan! Although he was wasted, he did look beautiful. I didn't realize how much I missed him until I saw the ep!

On another note, the one thing I find most amusing about this information is that at a time when Brad Wright and Company are developing what they consider "hard-hitting" sci-fi, the program that does best in the ratings for the network is frivolous, scifi-light with no deep thinking required. Perhaps the Universe concept is NOT what the public is looking for?

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2009-08-26 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
Wow, hadn't thought of that. Frivolous wins over dark? ;)

[identity profile] kodiak-bear.livejournal.com 2009-08-25 02:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I really like W13, though I see that I'm in the minority. I find the characters very enjoyable. And I love the whump they give us. :)

It was nice seeing Joe F. back again, wish he'd land a show. :(

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2009-08-26 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
I keep trying W13, but it doesn't click. Enjoy Artie but the main pair just are, eh, well, meh for me...

[identity profile] flingslass.livejournal.com 2009-08-30 07:56 am (UTC)(link)
Joe was pretty good with the bit they gave him, TPTB need to realise we tuned in for that.
Not overly excited with W13 but then they had Roger Rees on as the big bad (will be a recurring character). Roger was Lord John Marbury in TWW. I loved that man and his constant inappropriate behaviour and calling Leo 'Gerald' :D

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2009-08-30 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm still trying the show but so far, still not clicking. However, I think Eureka is great. Probably bet show SyFy has.
