Sounds good. How about Tahiti?? ;)

[identity profile] ladybeth.livejournal.com 2010-02-10 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
I second that ugh. I hate snow.

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2010-02-10 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
I don't mind snow, I just don't want the sleet they're predicting! Or having to drive to work in it!

[identity profile] saltyd.livejournal.com 2010-02-10 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
They cancelled school for us tomorrow already :) No buses for you to worry about if you head to work!

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2010-02-10 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
I really hope they cancel work. It's not worth it as the storm will just get worse as the day goes on. school is already cancelled here, too.

Ended up at work - for a whole hour - then we were let go. Really wasn't worth going in except for office manager being impressed.

i feel your pain.. we got 17 inches a couple of weeks ago

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2010-02-10 05:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Euuuu. light and fluffy? Ours is changing to wet and heavy.

[identity profile] parisindy.livejournal.com 2010-02-10 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
kind of a mix.. it wasn't really wet but it wasn't light either... sort of like ice... i was shoveling for days

My friend has it bad though she is in the usa..
she lives in DC where all those storms are

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2010-02-11 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, DC is getting dumped on. Not as bad as news folk made it out to be here.

[identity profile] parisindy.livejournal.com 2010-02-11 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
its too bad so much snow everywhere
and poor Vancouver has none lol

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2010-02-11 12:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I know. So ironic...

[identity profile] parisntripfan.livejournal.com 2010-02-10 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
Ugh. I know how you feel. We might get 6-12" ourselves. I will be dealing with the same storm.

Are you also ready to deal with the loss of power? That is what I have been worried about. The day we were with out was no fun. I really feel for the people who have been without power since the storm.

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2010-02-10 05:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, i'm charging up batteries for the laptop, have the candles at ready and well, not much else to do.

Sounds horrid! Let's hope they cancel work, because that doesn't sound like fun to be out in - more like dangerous!

Hey, here's a tip for staying warm that, you know, might just be helpful (!!):

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2010-02-10 05:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Work was open. I went in. Roads were basically empty, like a horror movie. Except for snow, it was nice, as it was easier to drive, except for moron in SUV who, given three lanes to be in, drove right in front of me on slick highway. ARGH! Honked horn and he moved. Idiot.

Heh, I love the ad. Yes, clothing might be helpful to stay warm ;)

[identity profile] saltyd.livejournal.com 2010-02-10 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
They say the worst is still to come - 12 to 15 inches overnight - makes me wonder if school will be closed again - I'll probably have to get up in the morning to check, unlike this morning when I got to sleep in.

I hope we don't lose power tonight - I don't wanna miss Human Target!

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2010-02-10 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Eh, what? more?? nooooo... i've swept/shoveled driveway 3 times already! Oh well, I'll watch Human target tonight, then go out with flashlight and see what's there. It's not windy yet, so, no no, won't say it, I'll jinx it then!

[identity profile] saltyd.livejournal.com 2010-02-11 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
Still snowing here, but we're not getting the amounts we were supposed to get - only up to 6 inches - more shovelling for you but not as much :)
Ah, another Human Target fan?

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2010-02-11 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
yeah, like HT. Not as much as SGA which just 'clicked' but it's good.

[identity profile] ladyniko.livejournal.com 2010-02-11 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
We didn't get nearly as much as what y'all are getting pounded with, but I made sure that I got everything done Monday that had to be done for a few days because I was not about to attempt to go into work at Job 1 yesterday, since MODOT does a crappy job on MO 100 on one stretch climbing up the bluffs that's full of curves and that people don't seem to know how to drive it.

Oh, and another sign that the world is coming to an end: snow daleks! http://is.gd/870LM (via @bonniegrrl)

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2010-02-11 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
I think biggest problem is not how roads are or aren't plowed, but how some drivers think they can drive in ANYTHING. Grrrr...
