Sigh, Robert Culp gone

Friend just alerted me, so I went to Google News... Robert Culp, whom I remember mostly from I SPY and GREATEST AMERICAN HERO, has passed away at age 79.

Preliminary reports - http://www.wtaq.com/news/articles/2010/mar/24/robert-culp-79-dies-after-fall/ - are that he fell and struck his head. That may very well be the case, as many older folk may momentarily lose their balance, fall and that's it, game over :(

I think that makes 3 deaths in a row now right?

I remember Peter Graves but who was the other one besides Culp and Graves?

I thought you meant this week.
I still remember Corey in Lost Boys where he tells his brother
"Wait till I tell mom you are a vampire"
and his run ins with his grandfather and his taxidermy.
He was so good in that film..........
It is somewhat of a cult film now I believe.

Yeah, guess it is three now...

Although I wouldn't put Haim in the same class of "classic" actors as Graves and Culp, I'd say we had a "third" with the passing of Fess Parker in the past few days...

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2010-03-26 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, that's correct. I'd forgotten about Fess, probably cuz I'm tired of seeing all the good actors pass on. Mental block!

***sighs***
I always loved Kelly Robinson.......and subsequent things Culp did
He was talented in the dramatic as well as in comedy.
Very versatile.
I recall one film he did, based on a true story, where a guy battled nasty kids in his neighborhood. It is super affluent and when he reports what they are doing e.g. blowing up mail boxes etc.,
they step up the vandalism. He knows who they are
and tries to reason with their parents who are in a 'Not MY son'
mentality..soooooooooooooooooooooooooo he rents a dump truck, fills it FULL of dirt and drives it to his neighborhood and dumps it in their pools.
I still remember that film.........I cheered for him.

I'll have to look up that film.

Outrage

One man decides to wage war against a gang of teenage punks besieging an affluent California community. Based on a true incident.

So sad. Loved him - one of the world's best straight men and funny on his own.

I saw him at comiccon in NYC last year and he looked in great shape. Yup, so sad.

Say it ain't so! I loved him in I Spy. He was awesome.

Alas, it's true. I remember watching him in I Spy when I was a lot younger.
