Windmill Lane are currently posting two feature projects for Parallel Films. The TV movies, ‘The Other Side’ and ‘Roadkill’, being made for British Sci-fi channel Syfy, both filmed in Ireland during summer 2010 and are currently in the hands of Windmill’s expert VFX team.

With Gráinne Gavigan (The Clinic) editing the feature at Windmill, ‘The Other Side’ is directed by BAFTA nominee, Billy O’Brien (The Tale of the Rat that Wrote) and stars Joe Flanigan (The Other Sister) and John Rhys-Davies (Raiders of the Lost Ark).

Written by Douglas G. Davis (Carny), the feature tells the story of a groundbreaking device designed to glimpse alternate universes. But when the machine malfunctions on its first demonstration and transports a group of observers into a nightmarish new dimension of bizarre alien terrors, the travellers must use ingenuity and courage to survive. But even if they stay alive, without a working transport, the group may never make it home.

’The Other Side’ is produced by Adrian Sturges (The Disappearance of Alice Creed) and the director of photography is Peter Robertson (Disco Pig) who shot on locations in Dublin and Wicklow. The support cast includes Catherine Walker (Leap Year), Dagmar Doring (Georgian Underworld), Chris Newman (Song for a Raggy Boy), Robert Soohan (David Copperfield), Sam O’Mahony (Casualty) and Yare Jegbefune (Fair City).

I wonder if John Rhys-Davies had flashbacks to "Sliders"...

They have JR-D down for Raiders rather than something he's made more recently like, oh I dunno, LORD OF THE RINGS!? Weird.

Sounds like it might be good!

Yeah, I read some of the movies listed and went, gee, there are more recent ones. Who knows how the folks who put out PR stuff think?

I'm just going to pretend this is an SG AU where Sheppard is a marine. ;)

Thanks.

It's certainly an odd collection of films they've quoted... Apart from Joe's and JR-D's films I've never heard of any of the others.

Believe most titles are British, and may be both film and TV works.

LOL I expect they are, but I don't really watch much TV unless it's really good crime drama, sci-fi or fantasy. Much of the stuff they've had on TV the last few years has been so easily forgettable that one episode has been more than enough to put me off for life.

After all, I watched Rising and was hooked on SGA for five years; and Joe Flanigan forever. :)

Stargate Movies

I hope they will give the green light soon for Stargate movies. SGA fans want closure. I am one of the fans who want a Shepperd/Todd pairing.
