Ice, we've got ice

Actually, the entire yard, everything was slicked with frozen ice today, but not horrifically. Meanwhile, we got some pretty big icicles on the house, which i snapped off and made a decoration in the snow with...

They were like three feet or so.

And if you want to see how much snow we got, see below.

Stargate Atlantis action figures in teh snow
Yes, you can figure out the height if you can figure out how big Sheppard and McKay from Stargate Atlantis are! ;) And this is NOT the biggest pile. There's more on the other side of driveway which is about six inches more...

And alas, it's been so friggin cold every night, down to the single digits, and alas, I found this poor little guy stiff as a board when I came outside. I buried him in the snow.

R.I.P. blue jay

Blue jays are such beautiful birds. I could find no damage on him, so assume it was the cold that got the poor thing.

I'm hoping the snow and ice go away. I'm sooooo tired of it! And more predicted for Friday.

Oh, poor bird :(

There's fic potential in picture number two. You should take more pictures of John and Rodney's adventure in the snow and challenge people to put a story to them ;)

I agree w/ the dragon here. :)

We actually got like MORE than they were predicting last night and it's still falling this morning... we could top 10 inches by the time this storm is done w/ the area.

That is so weird, cuz I did a serise of photos of Sheppard & McKay in the snow (a couple years ago) but am now searching my LJ but can't find the entry, so wonder if I loaded the photos and didn't do the entry, or the entry somehow went poof. Hmm...

=( I love Blue Jays. Our cold snap w/ epic 6 inches of snow (ugh the south) had the birds huddled on my covered porch and eating through my supply of seed.

Cool icicle sculpture!

LOL at John and Rodney having an adventure in the snow!

Poor birdie *iz sad*

I hope the cold goes away for you soon too - we've just had a mild patch in the UK, but apparently it's not going to last. It's already colder today...

You made an ice-Atlantis...does that make it Ice-Lantis? LOL

We are dealing with black ice here...
I look at your first shot and wonder if you
saw an item on the news about a house that was encased in HEAVY ice as a result of a water pipe that broke and was enveloping it in thousands of gallons? Had I not seen the item on the news and the video, I would never have believed it.d
They had to use a blow torch to get into the front door.........

That poor little jay..........they are like any other living being when it comes to cold. There is a point where a body cannot deal with it any longer...........

Your ice sculpture could be Superman's fortress from the first movie. :)

Heh, I thought about that when I was arranging them. Alas, they're all gone now, buried under snow and knocked over as we cleared the gutter. Darn.

Dang. It was a good idea, though.
