Caught in the act!

Now I knew the squirrels and chipmunks dined regularly at the bird feeder - heck, they're waiting on the patio every morning for me to refill the feeder, but tonight I caught this litlte guy (gal?) helping itself to the feed.

raccoon

THIS is probably the critter that keeps trashing the garbage cans but it's so cute I can't throw rocks at it. Flashlights scare it off anyway.

AHAHA!! Totally got it with the hand in the cookie jar!!! And the LOOK!! "Darn, busted!"

Oh yeah. And he/she has been back to attack the garbage. I was lucky to get this shot.

I used to have raccoons that would sneak into the garage via the cat door at night to eat any leftovers out of the cat's dish.

When I got wise to that, I made sure no food was out at night. So then they started popping the lid off the five gallon container I kept the food in. I even went so far as to put it upside down, so they couldn't get a claw hold on the lid. No problem! Just push the whole container off the table and have the food splash all over the floor for an all you can eat buffet. [facepalm]

During this little war, I would often turn the light on to chase it (or them) out, and I got Evil Looks that I was disturbing the late night snack time. Reminded me of this picture a few times though.

They're smart critters. This one is small. I dread if it turns into one of those 40 pounds. My garbage cans will not withstand an assault then.

Hah I LOVE his expression, could he look any more guilty? Great pic.

Yup, very guilty! ;)

LOL! S/he looks so guilty!! Totally caught in the act!!

We just get squirrel raids, no chipmunks or racoons loose in the UK. Kinda glad, 'cos I'd struggle to chase them off - they're so much cuter than squirrels!! :D

I'd miss not having chipmunks. They're so cute. Yeah, this critter attacked the garbage cans again last night.

Oh, chipmunks are adorable, and so are squirrels. Heck, they all are.

I have a bear coming up in the mountains at my window every night, talking to me. I'm very brave up there! They are so funny...

A bear? I'll take the raccoon anyday!

Ha! Busted. At first it looked like he was using a stick to pull the feeder toward him and I was mightily impressed.

I have a squirrel who regularly raids my bird feeders.

Nah, it's just a branch I didn't cut off, which is convenient place for squirrels, chipmunks and raccoons to use...

Wow, flashlights work? My racoons just show up on the porch and not even the dog at the porch door scares them off; they just walk up and put their little paws on the window and drive the dog nuts. lol

Well, flashlights and me holding the flashlight, I guess ;)
