cold, Cold, COLD!!!

Woke up this morning, wondering how much snow we would have gotten (between 1-3 inches, depending) and it was about an inch of crusty frozen sold stuff not quite covering the ground - and the car. Took 10 minutes to get the crust chiseled off and the inside warmed up.

And they say it's going to be COLDER tomorrow and worse on Monday. Eek!

Before I cooked up a roast, trimmed off all the fat and threw it outside and the crows had a festival eating that. Nobody eats the fat here anyway and the dog sure as heck doesn't need it (can we say "waddle"?)

The temperature in Rochester tomorrow is supposed to be the coldest in two years. The snow hasn't started yet, but we're supposed to get some lake-effect squalls.

If it's so cold, why can't the bloody lake freeze already!

Only good thing about this freezing cold - no ticks. There were ticks at Xmas time. Shudder.

I've heard about those Rochester winters. EEK!

ticks = tauri iratus bugs

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2007-02-04 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
Heh, if only they were that big. You could spot them bfore they latch on for their evening meal and give you Lyme!

[identity profile] tjackson.livejournal.com 2007-02-04 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
walking lyme soldiers ... marvelous.

so ... who else is jonesing for the sga s3 finale?

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2007-02-04 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
yeah, at least iratus bugs only suck the life out of you adn you can recover. lyme disease ticks are nasty little buggers.

[identity profile] tjackson.livejournal.com 2007-02-04 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
yes but ... lyme ticks don't make you want to run after deer and suck their lives out

[identity profile] dr-dredd.livejournal.com 2007-02-04 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
That's true. I can definitely say that I don't have ticks. I don't have feeling in my extremities either! *LOL*

Heh, well, as long as nothing falls off ;)

[identity profile] tjackson.livejournal.com 2007-02-04 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
what's the temp in Rochester? ... Lauderdale/St. Paul has -11

[identity profile] dr-dredd.livejournal.com 2007-02-04 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
I'm actually in Rochester, NY, not Minnesota. But it's still too damn cold! It's 11 degrees (-7 with the wind chill). Ouch.

[identity profile] tjackson.livejournal.com 2007-02-04 05:31 am (UTC)(link)
With the evening progressing it has dropped to -13 ... with wind chill that's -30.

So ... yeah I'll be wondering how we're gonna make it out to the car to drive 1 mile for a super bowl party.

bizrrrrr!

[identity profile] tjackson.livejournal.com 2007-02-04 03:07 am (UTC)(link)

It's -11 here in St. Paul

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2007-02-04 03:08 am (UTC)(link)

Seeing as I experienced the same ice, and saw the same forecast, I'm guessing we're not that far from each other. LOL! That being said -- I love my garage. I really do. :p

I wanted snow. Ice bites. Just saying.

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2007-02-04 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, don't say garage. It's packed to the gills with stuff. and since hte car is nearly 15 years old, well, sitting outside isn't going to kill it. Yeah, I want light fluffy snow. NO ICE!!

[identity profile] tjackson.livejournal.com 2007-02-04 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
i'd sell my left kidney for a garage.

[identity profile] dr-dredd.livejournal.com 2007-02-04 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
I know what you mean! I love my garage. Even though it's almost as cold as outside, I don't have to scrape snow off my car!!
