Cripes, those SyFy movies are dangerous
It seems most Stargate actors are off doing wretched SyFy movies in out-of-the-way (aka cheap) locations, and now one of them was badly injured in the process.
Corin Nemec was in a boat crash in Belize, and broke his femur in three places (!)and lost a lot of blood. Luckily, he survived. Others, including the lead actor, were injured. No mention of names. Full details at http://7newsbelize.com/sstory.php?nid=24537.
Gads, think it's time to bring all these flicks back to filming in the States/Canada where there are stricter laws and regulations...
Hope Corin recovers; a break that bad could leave a permanent injury.

I still laugh when I think of your commentary for Ferocious Planet

Ah, yes, Ferocious Planet was fun to pick apart. If Joe ever does another one... heh heh.

Yes, Kevin Smith. Wasn't sure if I remembered the right name so I didn't write it down.

not only that, there's nothing like OSHA (occupational safety and health administration) to go investigate what happened to try to make sure it doesn't happen again. if i recall, the police there (hong kong?) blamed him for the accident. said he was reckless or drunk or something.

There are two movies from the same company, Titan Global Entertainment, mentioned here, Jurassic Attack and Poseidon Rex.
The former shows Belize as a filming location, but it's in post-production. The latter I can't find much more than a monster movie poster image. I'm thinking maybe they filmed both with the same crew and locations, maybe some of the same actors as well, all to save more money.
That had to be a horrifying experience for Corin, and I have a feeling he's going to have a lot of healing time followed by PT to get his leg back into shape. Hope he can get back home soon to rest and recover.

It would not surprise me if two movies were made by teh same production company at the same time to save money. Alas, this will be penny-wise pound-foolish if any lawsuits arise. Although not sure how that occurs in a foreign country.
Corin's got a long stretch ahead of him to heal that leg, and hopefully there's no problem with all the blood transfusions. When you lose too much blood, sometimes you develop clotting issues (as in no clotting). Don't know how soon it will be when he can head to the States as sometimes with some breaks, you can't fly due to pressure differences and shifting bones.

You're not thinking of the Beatles fans who walked on his hands across the zebra crossing outside Abbey Road studios are you? His story was in the Michael Moore movie Sicko...

Glad to hear that he got through it and the surgery. He's got some pretty hardcore PT to get through to complete his recovery.

A kid at my high school - all those years ago - was hit by a car and broke his femur. Even after a year of PT, he had a slight limp that he did not have prior to the accident.

John Barrowman also once almost was killed while filming the movie "Shark Attack III" (he was young and needed the money) in Bulgaria. He was supposed to dive into and out of the submarine, which was full of water, but after he had gotten in and closed the entrance the other hatch did not open. He could not go back where he had come from either, so he was stuck. He had only 2 minutes of air left in his bottle. Thankfully they realized he was not coming out and went down to get him. That really could have ended badly and we would have had no Torchwood at all :(
And do you know the story about Benedict Cumberbatch being kidnapped and almost killed in South Africa? We wouldn't have a Sherlock either, then... you can read it in his own words here:
