My mouse croaked today. The computer mouse, that is (we won't get into what died in the ceiling a couple weeks ago - wretched rodents). Anyway, I had to use a screwdriver to de-ball it... and once I popped it open, cat fur fell out. Clumps of cat fur. Well, that accounts for why it just froze up. Now, all de-furred, it works nicely again :)

OMG, I so feel you (as my students would say).

I have to pull ferret hair out of the laser doohickey all the time because it interferes with the laser actually hitting the desk and therefore it won't track. :)

Exactly! A laser mouse is one of a cat owner's best friends. Someone needs to invent a decoy keyboard, though, so the cat can sit on that when you're working.... :D

We adopted two kittens unexpectedly last Thursday (my mother rescued them from the neighbor boys). The first thing they did, after being shown where the food bowls and the litter box were, was to try to help me finish a story I was trying to get ready for posting. They're only 6 and 8 weeks old, why do they think they know how to type? :-)
