Joe Flanigan guest starring in ABC's WOMEN'S MURDER CLUB

 A fan at http://movies.groups.yahoo.com/group/JoeFlaniganOnline/ posted some great tidbits on Joe Flanigan from the Burbank Stargate convention held today.

* Flanigan isn't his birth name. His birth name is Joseph Dunegan III. His parents were divorced almost immediately after his birth and his mother remarried. Flanigan is his adoptive father's name. He's the third youngest of his father's eight kids and his mother's three kids.

* He's got a recurring guest star role in the ABC drama WOMEN'S MURDER CLUB, which right now airs Friday's at 9:00 PM (yes, against the encore repeats of last week's SGA episodes. So unfair). No word on w hen they'll air. Of course, depends on if the series lasts or not too.

* Jason Momoa and his girlfriend and baby are moving up to Vancouver.

* His house survived the current fires but his kids school was burned down.

* Wasn't able to do the entire Walter Reed Hospital tour because he was filming "Women's Murder Club". And said he hopes to be in New York (City?) in the winter with family and then will take the train down.

So I guess his agent changed him mind because Joe was talking in Austrailia about how he wanted to do guest appearances, but his agent didn't want him to be typecast. Works for me! More Joe on television.

I like that he's getting more exposure, and WMC has gotten good reviews. i wasn't going to bother but now that Joe will be in one or two.... gonna juggle the recorders as I also can't resist the encore repeats of the new SGAs at 9pm

I LOVE Women's Murder Club! Aww, this is so cool! I think there are 4 or 5 or 6 episodes left for the season, but I cannot wait until they air. That's awesome. The series is definitely going to keep airing because they've won their timeslot on Fridays.

I hope he's in those episodes! Cuz otherwise, we'll have a delay due to the writer's strike. If it continues, that is.

Okay, I just checked. There are 4 episodes left for this season, and 6 have aired as of today! I know that the WGA and other officials are meeting on the 26th of Nov. to start negotiating again, but if they stop the strike, then production will continue, otherwise WMC should hopefully be picked up for next season and then other episodes that he might be in will start filming for next season at some point. But if you say that he's ALREADY filming the episodes, then they will definitely air sometime soon during this first season of the show. If he's going to be a recurring character, then if we only see him in one episode this season due to the strike, then he'll probably be back next season.

Hehe, me too. Just the idea of him being in it is so awesome. I think he'd fit right in. I saw above that you don't watch it, but it's like Grey's Anatomy, in which the show is 50% main character storylines and 50% police procedural. Grey's Anatomy is 50% m.c. storylines and 50% medicine.
Laura Harris is on the show, and she plays a prosecuter (spelling?). She was actually in an episode of Stargate: Atlantis, as the woman of one of the tribes in the episode The Game. :)

Thanks for the post, Elyse. I'm with you, wasn't planning on watching WMC, commercials didn't catch my interest. Hopefully we will know which eps Joe is in, so can watch those. I have been watching both the 9 and 10 showings of Atlantis, so I'll have to record Joe on WMC. Thanks again for the info.

I'm just so glad a nice fan who attended the burbank con spread the info. I do a weekly search on a TV search engine for Joe, just in case, but his stuff doesn't always pop up. Definitely going to record MWC to catch him.

I just mentioned this show to ancientcitadel and we were going to download the first ep but now we will keep going until Joe's ep. It probably won't show in Australia until next year.
