Stargate Atlantis: Jason Momoa's hair (poll)

This entire TV Guide article regarding Jason Momoa's haircut is online at

TV Guide

Plus there is also a poll on his hair.

Vote in Poll: Better Off Dread?
What do you think of 'Stargate Atlantis' star Jason Momoa's chopped-off hair?

> Love it, he's even hotter!
> Hate it, prefer the dreadlocks

Alas, does TV Guide realize Ronon's keeping the dreads?

The poll specifies Jason Momoa, not Ronon.

Ah, true, but I do think most people will be seeing him as Ronon, not as Jason, as he doesn't seem to do movies on the hiatuses (darn) and I suppose, in a good respect, he doesn't make the gossip columns per se so we can see off-set pictures.

Jason wants to get rid of them for his character as well. The wig he wears is heavier than his own hair was! Poor guy. If it comes down to it he may quit because of it and we don't want that. Plus, he looks way sexy without the dreads.

I rather like ROnon so hope that perhaps TPTB (as in SciFi execs) will realize that hey, people do cut their hair, even in the Pegasus Galaxy ;)

Hey, after 7 years of shaving himself bald, Teal'c was finally allowed to grow hair, so I think they'll let Jason eventually ditch the wig... Chris Judge has talked about how tiring that got to be to have to shave it all off & the bleach blond strip flavor savor on his chin in S4 was his attempt to say that if he couldn't have hair on his head, he'd grow a beard... however, the bleached strip disappeared just a few eps in because once he saw the dailys and saw how goofy he looked, he figured it wasn't such a good idea... :-p)

It comes down to a matter of getting the point through to JM & PM on it. :p (Season 3 opener, Torri had her hair all pinned up so you couldn't see she'd grown it out over hiatus and then, they were like, "Hey, she can have longer hair..."

I was thrilled to see the albio velcro caterpillar, as I coined it, vanish from his face. Scruffiness like that? Well, it looks lame on 99%of the men who think it's cool, and it ain't ;)

Yeah, it was pretty stupid looking, I agree and yes, for 99% of the men who wear them they do look pretty much like fools. :-p

Today at Meet the Hewletts, David mentioned that Jason once tried to rig up iPod earphones into his dreads for all those scenes where he doesn't have much dialogue :P

Oh, that's funny! can I beg/whine/grovel for anything else David said, well, about anything, or will you be posting at your LJ about it?

Bwahahahahahaha!!! I love it!!!

I say let him ditch the dreads. Neck pain is a pain in the neck :D

Alas, they're dealing with network execs. I remember talking to an actor of a scifi show in the 90s who told me that one day, he wore a pink shirt on the show, which in turn had execs spitting out emails/memos left and right debating on should the character wear or not wear a pink shirt and what will this mean to the demographics, etc, etc. etc. Weird.
