Found this link regarding cast changes on NCIS.

UGH...I know it has to be temp...but what a waste of screen time. yes, shake ups are TBTB's favorite things to do, but have they ever learned not to screw with what attracts your audience?

Its annoying, didn't work for CSI in season 5. Won't work here. Doesn't really make me excited at all to watch the opener...unless we see whats going on with the others...the reason fans watch the show.

Yeah, people tune into NCIS for the *characters*. Everybody Know talks about the characters, not the plots. hope this doesn't hurt the show.

yeah, shaking up HOUSE lost me as a viewer, and wasn't thrilled with changes on CSI...

Screwing with what attracts your audience ... ugh. I'm not a regular NCIS viewer but have liked what I've previously seen.

I really hope what happens in this fandom doesn't turn out like S4 and S5 of SGA. :(

Man O Man. I don't like this. Been following NCIS since the beginning and I was so crushed when Cate left. How am I supposed to survive three main characters being 'replaced' at once?

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2008-08-16 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
I've never understood the need for a 'mass' replacement, like they did on HOUSE.

Tell me about it. I only carried on watching House, begrudgingly, in the hope things would come back to normal.

It's like with SGA. If it wasn't for the fact McKay, Sheppard, Emmagan and Dex are still at the core, the whole let's get rid of Weir and Beckett thing and then the bring in Carter just to lose her the next season thing would have driven me away. Totally.

Oh lord, if they lost the core team, I'd be out of there so fast.

I think we all would.... as it was, the handling of Weir last week - sucked

JM & PM need to get down on their hands and knees and kiss Torri's feet, because as Weir, she was the soul of the show. Paul, as Carson, was the heart.

But, they won't admit that. Oh hell no. :-p

Its House series 4 isn't it?
I miss Michael Wetherly and Cote de Pablo. Grumble
Although I'm sure it will end up as the same old again.

I'm not keen on the shake-up, but I also wasn't keen on the shake-up of House, but I ended up really enjoying the series. The House writers even managed to make me go from disliking one of the new characters to being very sad about the ending of her story (trying not to do spoilers here!) I actually ended up liking the way the old team now interacts with House and Wilson. They are very much well-rounded individual characters now, rather than just 'the team'.

So I'll still be watching, but very much hoping Tony and co have more than walk-on roles.

I'm actually looking forward to it. We've seen agents Lee and Langer before and from comments I've seen it's not going to be like on House.

I'm not really looking forward to next season. And I'm not sure how much I'll actually be watching.

The writers strike sorta weaned me off TV for a while, and frankly, unless the new season is GOOD, I'll probably skip it.
