This is sooo... .argh... to think I just saw him less than a week before this took place. Currently looking around for any place to send him well wishes.

Man charged in attack on 'Stargate Atlantis' actor JASON MOMOA

A 21-year old man who allegedly attacked and injured an actor from the television series “Stargate Atlantis” was charged today with assault with a deadly weapon.

The L.A. County district attorney’s office said Venice resident Dominic Bando  argued with actor Jason Momoa on Nov. 15 at a cafe on Franklin Avenue in Hollywood. Bando allegedly struck Momoa in the face with a pint beer glass, which shattered in the actor’s face, said Deputy Dist. Atty. Victoria Pasternack. Momoa needed 140 stitches during reconstructive surgery.

Bando is scheduled to be arraigned Dec. 10, and was released on $30,000 bail. He already was on probation for a March conviction for carrying a loaded firearm, the D.A.'s office said. Momoa, who also appeared in three seasons of “Baywatch,” plays character Ronon Dex on "Stargate Atlantis."

That's so disturbing. I'll be at the Burbank con on Sunday. I hope he's feeling well enough to attend, and that fans aren't too intrusive about it. I'm sure it was a horrible experience that he likely won't want to discuss.

Well, personally, if he's got 100+ stitches in his face, his doctors may advise bed rest and I wouldn't think he'd be there. Someone on another list wrote the Creation folk, so if I see anything in response, I'll post it.

Yeah, of course he should stay home if he's not up to it. The assault happened on the 15th so hopefully he's feeling a bit better by now.

Yeah, there would be swelling from the blow, from surgery.. that usually takes days to come down. Just hope he comes out of this okay.

Hope Jason will be OK. I had a surgery last year on my arm with three stitches and that is still looking nasty.

OMG! That's awful! I can't even imagine someone taking Jason on - it must have been some fight. This guy must have some serious anger issues to hit someone with a glass. I wonder if he knew Jason's an actor.

OMG, poor Jason. I had to have 14 stiches in my face when I was about 7, and still have an inch long scar from it 3 decades later.

From the article, it sounds like a random bar fight. That's bad enough, but if it ends up being a crazy fan... I have no words.

My 3-year-old niece asked me if the man who hurt Jason got a time-out. I was able to tell her that yes, the police gave the man a big time-out. Hee.
