Ack, no, Supernatural actor in bad flick!

No no no no. Can't be. They remade that 70s sclock flick "My Bloody Valentine" (only this time in 3-D, and gah, I still remember Jaws 3 in 3-D and it was AWFUL). Anyway, I stared mindlessly at the ad going, should I really go, I mean, Jensen Ackles from Superantural is in it. I think he's the hero so he'll survive....

Of course, this movie might be great, but well, nah, it won't even get to my neck of the woods as 'teens-in-trouble-with-zombie-slasher' flicks just never make it here.

Thankfully bi-focals and 3D movies don't mix, so I'm not even tempted (even though Jensen Ackles is tres hunkish). And, please, there has never been a 3D movie made that was worth the effort of trying to find just the right angle to hold your head at and keeping it there until your neck cramps up. Not even at an IMAX theatre. So I wouldn't worry about missing it. ;-)

It's tempting but since I totally missed the Bond movie (darn!) I don't think this one will make me run out in the snow to see it ;) All I recall from Jaws 3-D was a couple guys in the front of the theater leaving halfway through complaining about headaches!

His co-star, Jared Padalecki, is in a remake of Friday the 13th that's being released around the same time.

They were both shooting at the same time, and the Js apparently used to call and text each other every day to taunt each other over whose movie was better.

and they'll both text each other when the respective reviews come out. critics usually save those schlock movie remakes. thank goodness supernatural is still around! ;)

Believe it or not I've heard this is actually supposed to be pretty good. Its not art but it is apparently a lot of fun in a B movie horror, leave your brain at the door, kind of way which is what was intended all along and you know 3D technology has come along way since 1983.

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but alas, I know the local movies chains won't get it: it's art, or really popular stuff, or they get it for one week and I miss it... ;) although somehow i managed to see Day the Earth STood STill and SAVE YOUR MONEY DON"T WATCH IT!

[identity profile] a-pilgrim-soul.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't worry I had no intention of watching it - why oh why anyone would think remaking one of the greatest movies of all time is a good idea in the first place boggles my mind but then they go and cast Keanu bloody Reeves in it.

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2009-01-03 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Keanu can do good work, but, I think he took the idea of "I'm an alien, not human, therefore I am a blank slate" a bit too far.... I was actually rooting for the aliens to obliterate earth, or at least the annoying kid.

Luckily I don't like horror movies (except the fantastic Black Sheep) so won't be going to see this. And with glasses 3D won't work :D

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, Black Sheep. Loved it!!

[identity profile] flingslass.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
I know, we both seem to have got a LOT of amusement from this movie :D

BaaaaaH! ;)
