Eh, just why is Sheppard always left out of the synopsis? They even did it on the DVD box set for season five. Does someone at MGM not like Sheppard or what? Sigh.

Duh, it's not like Sheppard is the lead or anything. He's not even top billing. Oh, wait a minute...

well, i asked mallozzi what's up. doubt he'll answer. asked @syfy, no word back. it's very odd.

I think Joe has too many opinions for them..

[identity profile] shansgrl.livejournal.com 2009-08-26 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
I second this. I think Joe has been to open with his thoughts

[identity profile] alyssa22.livejournal.com 2009-08-26 08:40 am (UTC)(link)
Yep. They definitely don't like his opinions. And it's not just MGM/Scifi. You just have to look at that twit Mallozzi's blog to see how many times he praises everyone else and ignores Joe F.

If you ask them, they will say, "Who is this Sheppard you speak of?"

Gah, that is so obnoxious. Would it have been so hard to put in something along the lines of "Sheppard goes to great lengths to rescue his people" because that's pretty much his story for just about every episode.

Oh, wait, but that would make him sound all cool and awesome, which is a sin! :P:P:P

It's just so bizarre. Hmm wonder if I can write the Geminis and fix Woolsey's name and say, hey, don't forget Sheppard! ;)

[identity profile] the-scary-kitty.livejournal.com 2009-08-26 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
The typos in the summary (especially "Wollsey" instead of "Woolsey") amuse me to no end. ;P

This subtle character assignation thing that's going on is getting tiresome and petty. I can't even bring myself to watch Syfy anymore.

[identity profile] lysambre.livejournal.com 2009-08-26 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
It's even more odd that they "forgot" him when Vegas is one of the episodes nominated. I mean, Vegas is a (rare) pure Sheppard episode.

We're at a point where no matter who likes Joe or not, it's highly disrespectful for everyone to keep not mentionning his character in a show where he's supposed to be the lead.

I swear if I didn't think even TPTB couldn't be this stupid, I'd say one of the reasons they canceled SGA was so they didn't have to deal with Joe anymore and that attitude has percolated elsewhere. And after he brought in a noticeable amount of extra viewers (especially female I'm guessing) to W13 episode Elements, too. ;)

I don't think MGM is the problem, I think it has more to do with his former 'bosses'. They don't even speak his name.

After reading another comment here, sure seems that way...

[identity profile] katikat.livejournal.com 2009-08-26 06:44 am (UTC)(link)
And Lt.Col. Sheppard is left out, of course. It's really starting to feel like someone's on a personal vendetta there. But then, during S5, he was the character that received the least antention so we shouldn't be surprised. I'm surprised that they didn't mention the amazing romance of Dr. McKay and Dr. Keller. The Geek got the Girl, after all! *rolls eyes*

Gemini awards

That synopsis is pretty much the same on the Season 5 DVD box with the addition of the line for Sam. If they could add a line for Sam, why not add one for Sheppard?

I can't imagine anyone reading that and not noticing Sheppard is missing from the list. Guess he just didn't have a personal crisis during the season. He just risked his life like he always does and is the leader of the military part of the expedition. The one Sheppard episode, "Vegas", wasn't our Sheppard, so we won't mention that. Gah!

Although, I think Sheppard gets more attention for NOT being mentioned.

"McKay will face some exceedingly difficult personal challenges" is him having to deal with Keller. 8^D

Because TPTB love Amanda because she says the right things and toes the party line.

They don't like Joe because he says what he thinks.

[identity profile] tashirasbubble.livejournal.com 2009-08-26 09:35 am (UTC)(link)
What everyone else has said really!!

Joe seems to have been overlooked once more...Considering WH13 has just proved how much of a draw he is, you'd think they'd want to promote him, but alas, personal agendas have taken over!!!!

So, so sad!

The guy isn't a corporate monkey.

That's pretty much it.

I wrote to the Geminii folk and asked them about the synopsis, got this in reply:

"The producer of the show provide us with all of our synopses. Please contact them if you feel it is inacurate."

I was a bit surprised they even responded, so that was nice.
Another brick in the wall of TPTB Fail.

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2009-08-27 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
Good grief. At what addy did you write the Gemini folk as hey, I'm gonna write 'em too.

[identity profile] tavabean.livejournal.com 2009-08-27 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
It was at the "contact" portion on the site:
info@academy.ca
I never knew people really read the emails you send to corporations/businesses, although I was surprised a while ago when I did get a response from someone at MGM (when I sent a note to the "contact us" address) who was upset that I was upset at SGA's cancellation.

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2009-08-27 11:59 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks. I just sent them an email. I figure if anybody concerned sends emails, they might go to MGm/SyFy/bridge -'fix it guys!'
