News from the set of Joe Flanigan's "Best Laid Plains"

Brooke White, who also stars in the Lifetime movie "Best Laid Plans", has a twitter, blog, myspace, etc., but in her blog at http://brookiebabble.blogspot.com/2010/09/why-im-in-toronto.html, she says:

.....And then there's my TV family... or the family I have on TV. I have a TV husband, in real life his name is Joe Flanigan, he was a sci-fi star on Stargate Atlantis... he has his own action figure. He is quite the character, and has given me some of the best acting advice... "just listen". Good advice for real life too. And without giving too much away I have some other amazing and adorable co-stars, these kids are super cuties and talented... oh and they are teaching me. And then there is Jayme Lynn Evans, who has become by BFF on set, she is also a Vegan and it perplexes me, I don't know how she does it but she is dedicated so i've got to give her props. She is gonna be a big time actress y'all, watch out. I don't want to say too much about the story at this point, but I will say that it is all about the fam, and that's cool, cause I love the fam. I also play a singer-songwriter, which is such a stretch:) I was able to write three songs that will be in the movie, one of them co-written with my pal and tour mate Michael Johns. Can you believe that was a year ago?!

This should be very interesting.......
It kind of reminds me of that
new film they have been advertising: Life As You Know It starring Kathrine Heigl and Josh Duhamel.......where they are single and suddenly find out that they are now the proud 'parents' of a very small bundle of joy. The trailers are hilarious......
Of course I realize Joe's 'family' features five kids but idea is similar.........
BTW, his advice to 'just listen' holds true in much of life.

It's a sort common film theme as I've seen it before but it sounds interesting (as does the Josh Duhamel film, which I just might see as I like that actor).

OMG! It just hit me after reading this who she is! She was on American Idol the year David Cook won, I saw her in concert. Talk about different fandom worlds colliding! LOL

Couldn't remember who she is by name but I looked her up and I very much remember her from American Idol! She was the very innocent one who had never seen an R-rated movie. I can only imagine how she gets along with liquor expert and cigar smoking JF, lol. SO this is her first acting job, good for her. She plays his wife but she's 16 years younger than he is so I hope they make a believable couple. Can't wait to see it!

Hopefully there's some chemistry between them. To be honest, I hope it ends up a cute movie to watch that doesn't get turned into a TV show. It'll be fun to see Joe in a different role.

I was just discussing this earlier with a friend. Not that I want to see another pilot go bad for Joe, but I have to wonder if he'd be happy actually playing this role. (He probably gets along with the kids, though) Rockford-esque, Vegas!John... that's what I'd like to see him doing.
