Photo Shop or PaintShop Pro? Help wanted

Everybody is doing such cool icons and banners and such and I want to do it, so, what's the best package to get? Right now I have windows 2000 but will probably  need something that will be usable on (ack) Windows Vista...

I have both Paint Shop Pro (PSP) and Photoshop, and I usually use Photoshop.

You can download a 30 day trial for photoshop from their site (http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/index.html).
