SGA's time slot; Joe Flangan, Kavan Smith, & Paul McGillion on the SGA set, etc.

First, I got verification from SciFi on the 10:00pm starting time on September. I'd been suspect of that time cuz Schedulebot has made mistakes, and until I saw a press release, wasn't going to chisel it in stone. So, the press release arrived, but wait, the ads still say 9:00 pm? So, I wrote SciFi, well, NBC, who actually wrote back and is having someone look into the time disparity as well, apparently we shouldn't be seeing those ads. Oops, someone as Skiffy goofed! Heads will roll, someone will be sacrificed to a CGI bug on a bad movie....

Meanwhile....

Snerched from Joe Mallozzi's blog. Joe Flanigan's dog tries to escape his clutches. Ah, silly dog!! ;)

For more photos, and the Sheppard background stuff, click on cut below.

The following is snerched from Joe Mallozzi’s blog entry of August 8th, and is relevant to those fanfic writers amongst us who keep going “we want Sheppard backstory”!

But first, some little pics of bigger ones you can find at  http://josephmallozzi.blogspot.com/2007/08/august-8-2007.html

There are more shots of Kavan with the puppy at JM's blog.

Perhaps Paul McGillion is thrilled with the press release that came out today about Beckett's return? ;)

Still looking for a title for the Sheppard on Earth story we finished breaking yesterday. To those of you who are using the bio on the Sci Fi website as a guide, stand advised - the reference to his father being a Cold War Colonel is not canon. I’m not even sure where it came from. So, expect some insight into Shep’s past relationships late in season four.

Anonymous #1 writes: “It does make me wonder if he had not approached you with this plot, would we have gotten any Sheppard back story at all this season?”
Answer: Delving into Sheppard’s backstory was one of the things on our To-Do list at the beginning of the season, and Joe’s idea gives us the perfect scenario in which to do it.

Grey writes: “On the SciFi website, for Sheppard's character it describes him as "the son of a respected Cold War colonel". In the upcoming Sheppard-on-Earth storyline, might we learn anything about said father (ie: dead, alive, disowned) or is that something initially thought of that doesn't fit the character anymore?”
Answer: That didn’t come from us.

Sooooooooo….. the Cold War colonel dad isn’t canon. It might be have something submitted by RC Cooper or Brad Wright cuz I don't think someone just sits there and goes, oh, let's just let Louis by the watercooler dream up a backstory to stick on the website (if so, I want that job!).

While this means we have even less backstory now on Sheppard, it also lifts all constraints for fanfic writers to give him any family/parentage they want (as if we haven't already).

It's Joe F's dog playing the guitar... JM has the pugs and the new little black Frenchie Lulu... JF also has a French Bulldog, hence JM's comment about "Bring your French Bulldog to work" day... :D

OMG! He's using the dog's paw to strum the guitar. Poor puppy!

And also... Is Paul groping himself?

Oops. Corrected that. Me thinks I was blinded by the sunglasses and Kavan Smith's pearly whites :)

No wonder doggie wants to flee!!! Gee, my cat is like that too.

Nah, Paul's just lowering his hand. This isn't fanfic, repeat, this isn't fanfic ;)

OMG I'm baffled over the start time....they have no clue the ads they're spending bucks have the wrong time??

I'll be happy which ever one gives them btter ratings thugh I have to get up at 6am on Saturdays, so I might end up taping it now...growl.

By the way thanks for contacting the podcast blog about the link..enjoyed the interviews today...and everything you've been posting about the comi con.

Thank you for that!

Would that be 9 pm cst? Because, tha'd be cool as I'm cst here in TX. And, we DVR that show anyway so either way, I'm good wiffit. *nods*

Still, is this an hour later than it used to start in previous seasons? I can honestly say I'm not sure what time it started last year.... yet again, the DVR messes up my real-time knowledge of actual start times for shows, even the nights they are on is relative to how many conflicts I have on the recording schedule. We have 2 DVR's so the conflicts don't happen that often.

Joe making the dog play the guitar is just the cutest thing ever!

I'm really looking forward to getting Sheppard backstory! :D

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2007-08-09 11:47 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, seems to be that way. The big expensive TV ads are telling us East Coast folk to tune in at 9pm (central at 8pm) while their inexpensive email PR to a newswire is saying 10pm.

You're welcome on the COmic-Con stuff. Think it's come to a close but I'll keep an eye out anyway for more stuff.

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2007-08-09 11:48 am (UTC)(link)
Well, hoping we get some nice meaty backstory too!

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2007-08-09 11:50 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, guess so. Yes, it was 9:00pm at one point but now it's 10:00pm ET. I'd rather have 9:00pm as then the repeat, if cable screws up the broadcasting, can be viewed earlier.

The thing is that how many people are watching the ads only, and not reading any articles? They'll tune in at 9 and go, 'what's this?' and turn off the tube...

It's a bit of an optical illusion. If you look closely, his shirt has dark blue or black stripes running vertically down the sides that kind of make that part of the shirt disappear in the picture, which makes him look thinner than he is.

Kavan Smith DOES have pearly whites! :)

I was watching an interview the other day about how Joe was learning to play the guitar so he could play with Jason Momoa! It was funny how he said that he wasn't that good. It was actually quite hilarious.
