Season 4 Publicity shots for Stargate Atlantis (from newsletters/magazines)

 Some teensy shots off MGM and NBC newsletters.* Hopefully these will be, can we dare really HOPE?, full page ads in TV Guide or somewhere?? Anyway, this is the same shot you see at the end of some Stargate Atlantis ads somewhere on SciFi's schedule.



This one might be debatable as NBC has severed its contract with iTunes. Ouch.



Another version arrived in the mail (apparently, maybe they're gearing up to promote the show?) (Thanks to Sherry for this one)

Lastly, this is a shot of Carter in her new uniform. Yay or nay? Personally, I had no idea Carter was trying out for the roller derby. Ack. Oh god, I'm sorry, but in looking at the leather stuff on the knees, all I can think of is the Robot on LOST IN SPACE, waving its mechanical arms, screaming "Danger! Will Robinson! Danger!" I mean, sorry, but this uniform is, well, stupid. Unless she's going to be spending a lot of time on knees... filing, gardening, or on a roller derby rink.



Luckily, John Sheppard did not get dressed in the same duds (eh, it's just an excuse to post this picture in its big size) Much better uniform, although I seriously doubt we'll ever see the bootlaces tied properly, but eh, who cares?

Alas, that's what they squeezed in the email newsletter. Guess we're darn lucky to even get that! But yes, a nice full PAGE ad would be great. I get both TV Guide and Entertainment Weekly and thus far, no sign of anything on SGA, unless they're going to wait till the week before or the week of. I hope they do promote it.

Well, hard to tell. You can also sign up for the newsletter at https://www.nbcunetworks.com/default.aspx# . Just go to bottom and go to User Registration. MGM/Skiffy/whoever seems to do a lot of dodgy photoshoppping.

Oh duh. I posted a thread in the BSG folder about NBC severing ties with iTunes because BSG is a NBC show, but I completely forgot that NBC owns skiffy and all its shows as well. *headdesk* Guess that means Atlantis episodes are going bye bye as well? Or can MGM override NBC and still have Atlantis eps on iTunes? Hmmm...

It's hard to tell. SciFi (part of NBC) does own a piece of SGA. I don't believe MGM owns it outright, and the DVDs come out on Fox, and it's sooo confusing... so I really don't know what's gonna happen.

Honestly, I'm royally ticked off about Teyla and Ronon looking like nothing extras in the first pic. If I were Rachel and Jason, I'd have my agents calling the PR office hourly to bitch about it. Also, you're entirely right: Carter's uniform doesn't even look like it's from Earth. I was kinda of sold on her longer hair, which we saw in the promos. But that weird leather creation just isn't happening for me.

However, Sheppard all relaxed with his boots untied? Happy-making.

I don't understand the obsession (or maybe fetish?) with leather in outer space... and that leather around her legs. What is THAT about?? Shep, on the other hand, even if he's a bit sloppy, is much more appealing.

Hopefully the dominatrix-biker chick leather thing is just for the publicity shots. In the clips we've seen on TV (ads), she's in more of a forest green cloth outfit, which makes a heckuva lot more sense.

Having looked at a slightly ridiculous amount of spoiler type photos I can say that as far as I can gather the leather get ups are generally for offworld.

In the pics I've seen of them in Atlantis they're ALL (Carter included) in the new style grey uniforms.

Oh and I gotta say. I've become resigned to Carter being on Atlantis, and I'm actually curious now to see how it's handled. BUT! There are still a few raw spots that get hit every once in a while, and once of those is whether AT becomes second lead, taking TH's place. Gotta say, even though I've gotten used to the idea of her being there, I'm not sure how I'll take that.

Sheppard's the best, so laid back even his clothes are relaxed. Those boots look like they would be uncomfortable if laced properly.
