Stargate Atlantis promotional shots for Season 4

Some Stargate Atlantis season 4 promotional shots have leaked out, and courtesy of a  very nice fan at this GW thread we get to see them (since we're still waiting for SciFi to actually release or do any publicity for the show, sigh sigh). 



My critical assessment: Sheppard has the best uniform, even with untied boots ;) ...thank God Ronon and Teyla are basically the same, and I can only envision that they're sexing up Sam in roller derby/leather/biker/dominatrix garb to lure in the fanboys, and what the hell happened to McKay? Did they leave him too long in the dryer? He's shrunk! Did nobody notice this after they took the photo? Ack. ;)

UPDATE: GW has just put up some new images (along with the ones this fan put up) and can be found here .

You'll see one of Sheppard by himself (but pretty small and dark), Teyla, McKay and Ronon. Hoping to find larger images of these shots eventually.

It's supposed to be perspective...they're supposed to be further in the background, thus appear smaller.

However, they found the least talented ape to do the photoshopping...

his is a HORRIBLE photoshop ensemble, I like sheppards (ok little to much black but OK)
Teila is ok too, and I really like Ronon's because is very him.
Rodney is like they are trying to make him cooler, I remember seen sheppard with the leather jacket and I was not too crazy about it, seems too odd for exploration.
I HATE carter's uniform Why? its SO over the top!
I think the people who design for SGA forget this is NOT a futeristic series, no need to make it look too spacey?.
I likes the simple t-shirt and pants they had when they were in Atlantis, seem more practical,
I remember when they used to dress Weir with odd futeristic shirtson season 1 and then changed it on just a red shirt, much better less forced.

I think they're sticking Carter in black leather for the fanboys. It's the only logical explanation I can think of.

No, Carter's outfit is definitely different. Rodney's got ordinary pants while she has tight pants with leather knee pads...carter's jacket is full of ridges, Rodney's isn't...

Hmmm... I'm not awfully fond of them. I don't like the way that they're standing, because it makes McKay look itty bitty. Even Ronon looks short standing in the background like that. It also looks like someone has gone a little airbrush crazy again.

look at the photo from the tops of their heads. the photographer was going for a particular upside down "v" angle to give the image visual balance.

I do know about perspective, but the way they did it in this photo is pretty lame. It's photoshopped images manipulated to fit a particular image, without regard for depth of field. Not to mention Teyla's, er, THIRD hand *cough*. ;)

And now we know the real reason why Skiffy's kept such a tight lid on S4 promo pics... The cross-eyed grade-school dropout they've got working in the photo department only passed Photoshop 101 because the instructor got so sick of holding the idiot back year after year...

No sense of proportion and scale, the token attempt at shadows cast by the figures is going in the wrong direction to match the background light sources, not to mention the lighting intensity on the actors is obviously brighter than the background lighting. *snort of disgust* Amateurs.

Oh sweet merciful heavens. Those are *awful*. I'm not sure which is worse, the bad Photoshopping, the awkward poses, Carter's rubber kneepads (what's the point of them? No... wait.. my mind can only come up with one answer and it's NC-17 rated...), the poorly-fitting wig that Rachel Luttrell is wearing that makes her look like a cheap transvestite...

Cough yeah, I've read several remarks around about the knee pads *cough* ;) Although the whole shot is pretty awful, pose wise, etc., I realize it's still probaby better than any shot of Britney Spears from that recent awards show. I suppose we should happy HER costumer isn't working on SGA ;)

Nice journal! Great to see the new pics of the cast uniform but poor biker!Sam... she deserves better. Alas, Poor McKay too, he got turned into a drawf. The person who Photoshopped this also forgot to give the cast reflections on the floor (we only see the reflections of the stargate)...hee! Not even going to mention about Telya's *cough* extra hand growth. *chuckles* However, that saying, it's nice to see what their new uniforms look like...
