Who will be new Doctor Who?
Yup, David Tennant has given notice, walking papers, whatever. No more Doctor Who.

Whoa, I've NEVER heard him talk lin his true accent! You know, it doesn't bother me as this show is built on the concept that the Doctor changes, whether every year, or every few years...

on the whole the doctor generally last about 3 to 5 series (seasons) - so I'd say he's about average on that
I know that I was gutted when I realized that Eccelston was leaving after just one series and couldn't imagine anyone replacing him and doing as good a job - but David did it - his Doctor was different from Chris's and as they were from the previous incarnations as well - and David certainly has proven his acting skills in many of the best eps
but I have to say - considering the 'harsh' unforgiving nature of this Doctor it might just seem that it's time to move on (no pun intended) - I've uploaded the video for those wanting to save a copy for themselves or you can watch it on YT - I know some people have major issues trying access videos from BBC
I also found it interesting that David AND John Barrowman are both Scottish and both have beautiful natural Scots accents

heck when he REALLY gets the Scots going he and John are almost undecipherable with their lovely idioms and accents

Ooo I love his real accent! :)

It will be interesting to see how they handle the unveiling of the 11th Doctor. The BBC have been masterful in managing Doctor Who publicity and leaks over the last couple of years -- other studios could take lessons from them.

Yeah, his accent was quite intriguing. I'll have to listen to the video again :)

It'll probably be someone under 45, since they seem to be aiming for a young audience these days with all the ridiculous shipping and what-not.

I'm a bit afraid what this will mean for the DW fandom and for the TW fandom as well as TW is also not save for another seson yet.
So... can David Hewlett please become the new doctor now? He's available after all, it's brilliant timing, it's his dream, he'd be wonderful, I know it!

I'm not that bothered he's leaving, even though he is my favourite doctor...like you said, regeneration's part of what Dr. Who's about :)
