Whoa, I've NEVER heard him talk lin his true accent! You know, it doesn't bother me as this show is built on the concept that the Doctor changes, whether every year, or every few years...

Hmmm. Interesting. I personally thought they should have used Paul McGann when they started the new series instead of CE.

It'll probably be someone under 45, since they seem to be aiming for a young audience these days with all the ridiculous shipping and what-not.

unfortunately most Who-purist barely consider McGann's 8th Doctor to be official canon and I have to say that Americanization of the series just didn't work - thank god for RTD and new management at the Beeb

The movie was a bit of a joke -- the kiss in particular I thought was just wrong. But then again, I don't really like the new series because of the shipping. Rose in particular destroyed it for me. I'm a purist in that I believe the Dotor is NOT supposed to be shacking up with his companions.
