Update on Jason Momoa from Burbank, CA Stargate Atlantis convention

Here's an update on Jason Momoa from the convention. I received permission from the author (kc_crr) to repost here. I've posted verbatim so nothing gets lost in translation. Feel free to link to this LJ entry.

Hi everyone from Burbank. Jason visited our table at the breakfast
this morning. He needs to wear sunglasses to protect his eye. He has
a scar from above his left eyebrow to below his cheekbone. He will
need surgery to repair his left tearduct since it was affected. He
has to dab his left eye constantly for the tears from the duct. I
said something about at least there wasn't any nerve damage and he
said they aren't sure yet because he can't raise left side of his
brow. His vision is okay. He seemed in relatively good spirits.
Someone said that Paul M. was at the convention just in case Jason
wasn't going to appear, but Jason said his doctor said it was okay to
come.

Rachel is the tiniest thing ever and the sweetest. She is having
dinner with Joe F. tomorrow night. She said Joe is family.

David H. I felt anyways, is very ulike McKay. Some people will
probably disagree. Smaller in stature than I expected. He was very
friendly and down to earth.

Good to see that mostly everyone was all right & it totally sucks about Jason's condition.

And, the actors don't know anything yet about the movie? Good lord... yeah, I guess the PTB's all have a stick up their ass about SGU & how it's the newest BEST thing yet for SG, and thus want to put all their energy into that first.

Forget what's gotten them there, seems to be the mentality. *sigh*

Maybe they're not allowed to say anything and rather than say that and have to listen to fans begging to reveal details, they just said they didn't know.

Paul McGillion said he wasnt allowed to mention anything about the Star Trek convention when I asked him at Pegasus3, not even how much his screentime (of course this was the only thing most Paul fans were interested in about that movie)

I love how Rachel is having dinner with Joe. I am still horrfifed over what happned to Jason and this sounds so much worse than first reported. I'm amazed that he came out to teh conention and even went to the breakfast. What amazing guy.

In syble4's report she said Joe might be working with David on his next project...that sounds awesome.

Its nice to see them all staying in contact with each other.

My dad had the same trouble with his tear duct and it is just fine now....I hope Jason will come out just as well when he gets his fixed.

Yeah...I agree...David's very different from McKay. David's much nicer and funnier. And, I mean funnier as in on purpose rather than as someone to laugh at, on the show.

Even though you said you found him smaller in statue than you thought...he's not a small man. He's average I would say. About 5'10" to 5'11". But, with Joe F., Jason M. and Michael Shanks being so tall...he can come off as short. But, next to David N. he's tall...lol.

I just know in the photo op pic I have with him, he's about 4-5 inches taller than me and I'm 5'6". So not a little guy....about the same as my hubby actually.

And, like I said...very funny...had us in stiches at Shore Leave.

*giggles* Me too...but I think my hubby would have a fit if I brought one home. The closest I'll be able to get to a statue is if I finally get some of the SGA action figures I would like.
Maybe I can ask for them for Christmas? *smirk*

I can have mini McKay and mini Shepp statues...lol.
