Stargate Atlantis season 4 ad #6 (with new ending) - SCREENCAPS

Here's the shot from the very end of the ad you can view in the post right before this one.

New season 4 shot at end of ad.  Left to right. Rodney (looking smug), Sheppard, Carter (and it's a tight leather outfit), Teyla, and alas, way in background, is Ronon, by the gate.

Sheppard fends off the bad guys

Teyla's face after Rodney says he'd like to be captured by the sexy alien

Hi ho, hi ho, it's off through the woods we go. First one is Sheppard and his expression is priceless, even though you can't see it.

Carter in charge

Carter turns to face Sheppard after he congratulates her on the promotion

Sheppard takes a break. No, wait, he's working. Really, honest!

Thanks for these. =)

Do you know if Skiffy's mag is running any features to do with the show, seeing as it's not too far off now..?

[identity profile] anjak-j.livejournal.com 2007-08-27 07:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh and could Ronon be any further back in that stock ending shot???

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2007-08-27 07:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Hello... can you hear my echo? Yeah, talk about being shoved into the background!

[identity profile] anjak-j.livejournal.com 2007-08-27 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL. I'm glad they've had the forethought not to shove Amanda in at the front, but I'm disappointed that they've shoved him all the way back there. It looks really shit. I am surprised they didn't get Keller on there though...

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2007-08-27 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, glad she's not up front either, but why they had to shove Ronon so far back is insane... Keller is a recurring (not regular) character so it doesn't make sense she'd be in the ads...

[identity profile] anjak-j.livejournal.com 2007-08-27 08:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, that would explain Keller, though honestly I'd have thought Skiffy would have exploited her joining the show for all it is worth.

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2007-08-27 07:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't know. I don't think so becuase Skiffy's fall issue is already out and I didn't see it. I think they're going to be cheap and not do any full pages ads (unlike Flash and Eureka, which got full pages ads in mags like TV Guide and Entertainment Weekly).

[identity profile] anjak-j.livejournal.com 2007-08-27 08:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, I was just wondering since in exchange for a copy of something on disc, I suggested the person send me it, but I can't find details anywhere.

[identity profile] kodiak-bear.livejournal.com 2007-08-27 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I finally found it in the store this weekend and all it had was a small blurb with some other fall returning shows, no major interviews or anything. Big disappointment. I opted not to waste money on it. But Sci-Fi Now is doing an Atlantis feature in their September issue so I'm going to go buy that one. It's in the UK so you'll probably get it before us. Says it goes on sale sept. 8th.

[identity profile] anjak-j.livejournal.com 2007-08-27 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
That was the one that has been out a while over here - since the beginning out August. I actually have that - it's the same issue as the sexism article I scanned was from. I just got bored with scanning after scanning that article.

To be honest, it wasn't the most amazing feature, considering it was the magazine's cover feature. It has been a very dry year for SGA articles in SciFi mags.

EW.. I hate that Ronon was further back than... is that Teyla or the new doctor? Jeeeze, they could've at least put him next to Rodney and he'd not have been so removed from the group as to nearly be unnoticed.

Oh well... they might just start putting David Hewlett front and center given the mass number of Rodney-centric-heavy eps there will be this season.

That being said.. has Flanigan decided to bail after this season? If he did, as far as I'm concerned, this would be my last season. Rodney's funny buuuuuut.. *shrug* I must have my Sheppard eye-candy, and not to mention the great whump and angst, most of which they give to everyone else and very little to Sheppard *huffs*

Oh.. not trying to start a rumor but, just sayin.

JF, like hte rest, have 6 year contracts, I believe, but seeing as how Torri's out the door :( But I think he'll stay for the duration. Not sure if next season is all that ROdney-centric. I do like Rodney but Shep is my main man.

As for poor Ronon. Good thing he's a tracker as he'll need that skill to find the team in the ad! ;)

[identity profile] anjak-j.livejournal.com 2007-08-27 08:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I think Joe actively seeking out-season work has people worried since he's never seemed to have any interest in doing other work while on the show before.

To be fair, 4 years is a long time doing the same thing, let alone 5 or the 6 he's contracted for. I've never made a secret of the fact that I think that if the show goes on past the contract terms (highly unlikely at the moment, but they might turn it around), I don't think he'll continue. And honestly, he has three kids and a wife in LA, and travelling home every weekend must be tiring and stressful.

Joe is the main reason I tune into SGA. If he left, I'd give it a fair chance, but unless they found someone good to fill that hole in the show, I'm afraid SGA would be on shaky ground from the off.

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2007-08-27 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, he does have three kids now (think of the astronomical car insurance and college tuitions!) ;)

I honestly don't know if he'd continue if the show kept going, after the contract goes. I think it would depend on if he got a better offer, but as some of the SG1 actors have said, it's nice to have a steady gig.

Guess we'll have to wait and see...

[identity profile] jackfan2.livejournal.com 2007-08-27 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I agree... I think the main reason RDA went to recurring on SG1 was that he got tired of having to travel to Canada so often. As a wife an mother of two small boys, I can concur that the time my husband is away from home is stressful, not only on me and the boys, but on my husband. He comes home really beat - I imagine JF has that same problem.

If things do get turned around, and if they do go beyond the 6 year contract and JF leaves, I only hope they don't bring someone in from the SG1 series. Someone like, ooooh, say .. who was that actor that played the lead in Firefly? The character was Malcolm Reynolds- he might be interesting to see in JF's place.

Still, I'd follow whatever JF does post-SGA, either movie-wise or TV and I hope his future is all the brighter for his time on SGA. However, I'm sincerely hoping they can turn SGA around.

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2007-08-27 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, when SG1 first started, RDA didn't have a kid, but then when he did... he did state he wanted to spend more time with her, and thus, made the decision to eventually leave the show.

Ah, the Firefly actor is Nathan Fillian. Think he's in something this fall, but can't remember.

[identity profile] pisces227.livejournal.com 2007-08-27 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I just read that Nathan Fillion is joining the cast of Desperate Houswives.

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2007-08-27 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
That's the show!

[identity profile] jackfan2.livejournal.com 2007-08-28 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
YES! Nathan Fillian, that's who I was thinking of.

I believe Fillian had some kind of mid-season replacement that he was involved in, however, I believe it got canned and won't be back this September.

Well, at present, that's neither here, nor there as we still get the Flan for another year, maybe two *keeps fingers crossed*. Whatever happens, if he leaves SGA, I do hope Joe gets some good gig on a prime-time network. I'm do DO adore him as Shep, but yea, I know actors do move on, especially if they have to travel so far much for much of the filming, and I'm glad the man is so very involved in the life of his family.

So... Torri had a 6 year contract too? That's really too bad. I will really miss her this season.. *sigh*

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2007-08-28 11:49 am (UTC)(link)
I'm assuming six year contract for Torri. It's the standard it seems on shows like this, so TPTB can keep down costs (otherwise if the show becomes a hit, the actors want a bigger piece of the pie, logically).

[identity profile] kristen999.livejournal.com 2007-08-27 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I've wondered about his contract too, BUT one of the good things about SGA is Joe works only 7 out of 12 months out of the year...where normal TV acttors do 10 out of 12.

I'd be happy with 6, thats a long time...heck I'll be thrilled with 5!

[identity profile] wraithfodder.livejournal.com 2007-08-27 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup, i'm just hoping for a season 5 as season 4 looks promising.

[identity profile] kristen999.livejournal.com 2007-08-27 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks for this--I would never see this ads without you!

Ohhh John in the chair..me loves John and Atlantis. sigh

[identity profile] pisces227.livejournal.com 2007-08-27 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Cool. Thanks for the links.

[identity profile] klenotka.livejournal.com 2007-08-28 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you, for caps and the video ;-) I keep watching as long as David Hewlett is there. I am glad to see him finally standing behind Joe, it has always been in the show, so to put it so on the promo is natural.
I love this guy and I don´t think that S4 would be too Rodney-center. He has announced one his episode and two more with few other characters, so I think it´s not a problem.
Ronon so far in the gate, it could mean that he will be undecided if to stay in Atlantis or go to his people.
