Here's the shot from the very end of the ad you can view in the post right before this one.

New season 4 shot at end of ad.  Left to right. Rodney (looking smug), Sheppard, Carter (and it's a tight leather outfit), Teyla, and alas, way in background, is Ronon, by the gate.

Sheppard fends off the bad guys

Teyla's face after Rodney says he'd like to be captured by the sexy alien

Hi ho, hi ho, it's off through the woods we go. First one is Sheppard and his expression is priceless, even though you can't see it.

Carter in charge

Carter turns to face Sheppard after he congratulates her on the promotion

Sheppard takes a break. No, wait, he's working. Really, honest!

I think Joe actively seeking out-season work has people worried since he's never seemed to have any interest in doing other work while on the show before.

To be fair, 4 years is a long time doing the same thing, let alone 5 or the 6 he's contracted for. I've never made a secret of the fact that I think that if the show goes on past the contract terms (highly unlikely at the moment, but they might turn it around), I don't think he'll continue. And honestly, he has three kids and a wife in LA, and travelling home every weekend must be tiring and stressful.

Joe is the main reason I tune into SGA. If he left, I'd give it a fair chance, but unless they found someone good to fill that hole in the show, I'm afraid SGA would be on shaky ground from the off.

Well, he does have three kids now (think of the astronomical car insurance and college tuitions!) ;)

I honestly don't know if he'd continue if the show kept going, after the contract goes. I think it would depend on if he got a better offer, but as some of the SG1 actors have said, it's nice to have a steady gig.

Guess we'll have to wait and see...

I agree... I think the main reason RDA went to recurring on SG1 was that he got tired of having to travel to Canada so often. As a wife an mother of two small boys, I can concur that the time my husband is away from home is stressful, not only on me and the boys, but on my husband. He comes home really beat - I imagine JF has that same problem.

If things do get turned around, and if they do go beyond the 6 year contract and JF leaves, I only hope they don't bring someone in from the SG1 series. Someone like, ooooh, say .. who was that actor that played the lead in Firefly? The character was Malcolm Reynolds- he might be interesting to see in JF's place.

Still, I'd follow whatever JF does post-SGA, either movie-wise or TV and I hope his future is all the brighter for his time on SGA. However, I'm sincerely hoping they can turn SGA around.

Well, when SG1 first started, RDA didn't have a kid, but then when he did... he did state he wanted to spend more time with her, and thus, made the decision to eventually leave the show.

Ah, the Firefly actor is Nathan Fillian. Think he's in something this fall, but can't remember.

I just read that Nathan Fillion is joining the cast of Desperate Houswives.

YES! Nathan Fillian, that's who I was thinking of.

I believe Fillian had some kind of mid-season replacement that he was involved in, however, I believe it got canned and won't be back this September.

Well, at present, that's neither here, nor there as we still get the Flan for another year, maybe two *keeps fingers crossed*. Whatever happens, if he leaves SGA, I do hope Joe gets some good gig on a prime-time network. I'm do DO adore him as Shep, but yea, I know actors do move on, especially if they have to travel so far much for much of the filming, and I'm glad the man is so very involved in the life of his family.

So... Torri had a 6 year contract too? That's really too bad. I will really miss her this season.. *sigh*

I'm assuming six year contract for Torri. It's the standard it seems on shows like this, so TPTB can keep down costs (otherwise if the show becomes a hit, the actors want a bigger piece of the pie, logically).

I've wondered about his contract too, BUT one of the good things about SGA is Joe works only 7 out of 12 months out of the year...where normal TV acttors do 10 out of 12.

I'd be happy with 6, thats a long time...heck I'll be thrilled with 5!
