Transcript/screencaps: Stargate Atlantis season 4 sneak peek

Fans expecting a HUGE sneak peek ad should take a slug of whiskey before opening up the spoiler tag below. ( I say this because it seems many fans were expecting a montage of scenes, fast action clips, etc.)

First , SciFi voiceover: "And now, an exclusive sneak peek at the new season of Stargate Atlantis" and a few clips from the previous SciFi ad - of Carter and Sheppard, Keller, Rodney... then segue to NEW scene.

Open with a scene of Sheppard, Ronon (behind Sheppard),  Rodney and Weir (in front passenger seat) in a jumper

Sheppard (at helm): "Rodney, ready?
Rodney (in back): "Did I mention that this might not work? And that we could either drop out of hyperspace prematurely and end up stranded in the middle of deep space, or quite possibly be vaporized the moment I touch that-"
Ronon (in back seat, snarls): "Just answer the damn question!"
Rodney (quiet): "Yeah, I'm ready."

Voiceover (using second season team-slogging-through-water sequence): "Stargate Atlantis returns Friday, September 28th at nine, part of the all new SciFi Friday, brought to you by Subway. Eat fresh."


Pros: We got to see a scene from season 4, albeit a very brief one.
Cons: We saw a very brief snippet, and I dare say fans were hoping (nay, I say expecting) a nice 30-second (or maybe even 20 seconds) of various clips from various episodes. Total time (including front and end promoting Subway and maybe fans should write Subway to say "thanks' for supporting the show): 30 seconds.

Okay, when I see this picture, all I can picture is Sheppard and Ronon wrinkling up their noses and going "who farted?" ;)

That was a quick capping job. Thanks for posting the pics and transcript. Raises hand, I was expecting a trailer ala a movie trailer with lots of clips, action and dialog. I am happy they showed something with SGA. I hope Sci Fi keeps pimping the show all summer long, so if it takes short little clips, I'm down with it. Good idea to thank the advertisers, after all money/advertising revenue is what drives the network. So does anyone have the info for contacting Subway? Thanks for the post, Elyse.

Considering my primitive version of capping (aim camera at tv, take picture, transfer pics to PC, shrink 'em, load 'em to photobucket, copy URLs to LJ), yeah, it was quick ;)

Heck, I volunteer to buy a digital camcorder (preferably nothing expensive) and fly out to Vancouver and spend a day with the cast and film them for a new ad :)

This is pretty much the same way I feel about the usually awful promo pics. If they really have that much of a problem getting decent pics of the cast, I have no problem hauling my SLR and my ass over to Vancouver to do it.

God, the last couple of cons/events I've been to, I took awful pics battling with that old camera.

Me and a friend of mine used to have a side business taking unofficial concert photography...possibly the worst picture taking ever.

Hmm, auction idea - bid on a chance to do the cast promo pics. I'd certainly be putting everything I own on ebay for the chance, but I'm not sure how suitable the pics would be for the general public - the guys would losing their shirts for starters...

Um.. anyone know the premise for that episode? Weir and John are together and that's what matters to me most, especially given what I already know spoilerishly for season 4 *sniffles*

Oh, forgot to mention something, there's a longish trailer for season 4 of SGA on Youtube. Dangit.. I didn't save the link, but if you search Stargate Atlantis, I'm sure it's none to difficult to find.

I saw that and both miriel and I were like "That's it?!" It was like a recap from any given episode since Ronon joined. Didn't particularly make it all special like. I expecting something a little bit more bang, to get the fans excited. I sat through a show I don't like to see that. *sighs*

I can't be for sure, I'm afraid. I just saw a tuft of hair and heard the voice real quick. Someone else might have to confirm/deny. Usually I can pinpoint voices, though. It's how I identify most people on television when I'm just listening and not watching it.

Heh. No no, sacrifice is watching ECW in the vain hope they'll show an SGA ad. I did that once, but turned off the sound. Gah, don't know how people watch it but they do (ECW).

Even if I was a fan of the genre, I couldn't watch the ECW. I'm from Atlanta. After the wrestler dude killed his family and then him, sooo over it. So, so over it. I find that if you mute the television 75% of the time, it's far more interesting since you can make up the scripts yourself.
