Fall TV

Decided I should partake of the new fall network fare before the axe falls and shows get axed.

Tried CHUCK on NBC - despite some critical acclaim, it's not something I'll rush off to watch, although seeing Adam Baldwin as the cold, killer spy agent reduced to working at a box store and not kill anyone was very funny in that one scene. HEROES totally confused me, picking up where it did, but I'm sure all will be explained in due time. JOURNEYMAN is sorta derivative but I do find it entertaining, mostly due to Kevin McKidd. Don't know if it will survive in its time slot and since they 'repurpose' it to SciFi, that's how I'm watching it. NCIS is as good as ever, I'll get around to watching HOUSE on DVD at this rate. At first PUSHING DAISIES sounded like a horrid prospect, waking up folk for a minute only to bump 'em off a minute later, but it was entertaining, and the lead actor (um, er, don't know name) is appealing. It's done in the style of a movie I've seen, but can't place. It's very weird but oddly enticing. Hmmm, watching all the CSIs - Horatio's got a new truant kid, Sara is alive but the actress is leaving the show on CSI (which means I should avoid all the GSR boards, etc. as they'll be up in arms), and can't think of any radical new developments in the NY show except I hope they put Gary Sinise in T-shirts more often. Oh, SUPERNATURAL starts season 3 tomorrow night and I suppose I should tape it to watch after I watch season 2 on DVD, as it's against CSI. I keep watching ER despite insane plots, and WITHOUT A TRACE, fun to watch, so I tape and see later. I tried MOONLIGHT but ti's anemic and the 400 year old vampire is too Type A fo rme ;)  Best show? Well, duh, STARGATE ATLANTIS :)

I can't say anything in the new fall season screams "watch me!" except SGA.

Ah, but did you watch the Bionic Woman? That, I found that highly enjoyable as a new show, and am looking forward to this weeks ep which has Isaiah Washington in it. Its a bit dark, and the tech is kool, and the characters all have histories, so it'll be awesome to explore all that as well.

Yeah. I nitpicked "Adrift" to bits, but SGA is still the best thing on tv, as far as I'm concerned. I'm eager to see this Friday's ep! (I only nitpick to death the things I love. :) )

I sorta tried it but it was pretty dark, and well, I tend to watch Criminal Minds. I think it repurposes on Skiffy too so maybe I'll check it out there.

Me too. If I don't care about a show, I just go 'meh' and don't watch it!

Sweet as. I tend to prioritiza my scifi stuff over the crime stuff. Each to their own. It all *looks* dark, but I don't think its that psychologically dark, if thats what you mean. Lots of night shoots and underground stuff, it seems so far. We'll see how it develops.

Hee! Pushing Daisies uses a very similar narrative style to movies like Big Fish, Amelie, Hitchhiker's and a bunch of others with the tongue in cheek third person pov. I loved it, though I'm a bit worried the narrative voice might get a bit annoying. But, it worked for Dukes of Hazzard, right?

Chuck is frothy, but I'll watch it for Jayne and the humor. It's not gotten into a groove yet, that's my theory. Soon as the characters settle down, I think it could be good.

Best show I've seen so far is Reaper on CW. You gotta watch it. I've been taping it and watching it later. It's really a ton of fun. Also, Life (10:00 on Wednesdays) is fun as well. Can't explain why, exactly. If you just saw the first five minutes of tonight's episode, though, you'll know why.

And, yes, SGA is still the best thing on TV! Hands down!

That's it. Hitchhiker's Guide! Knew I recognized the style. oh, have been recording LIFE but have yet to watch. Will have to remember to check out REAPER.

I'm so grateful that NBC and ABC are reshowing their shows online. It's saving me!

I watched the newbies Journeyman, Moonlight, and Daises. I may give Journeyman a second chance, I loved the guy when he played in Rome.
The other 2 are so-so, if I don't remember to watch them, then that's ok. It took me a few eps to get into Heroes and now I really like it.
I still watch CSI Las Vegas. I love House. But SGA is still my favorite and the best show on TV.
