JOE FLANIGAN
It’s just days away (8) till Joe’s SyFy flick Ferocious Planet (aka The Other Side) airs at 9pm on SyFy. You can watch the latest teaser ad at http://video.syfy.com/movies_events/syfy_saturday/promos_trailers_8/ferocious-planet--syfy-original-movie/v1316616 And heck, you can even pre-order this gem of a movie at Amazon.com at http://amzn.to/ferociousplanet for $17.99. It will be released June 7th. Fans are hoping he might resurface on twitter when the movie airs next Saturday.
Good Day for It, the drama he made last summer, is coming out on DVD, but only in Australia (note: those DVDs not playable in Region 1 (USA) players). http://www.borders.com.au/video/good-day-for-it/24309881/ has details and the Synopsis: A man forced to abandon his wife and daughter years earlier must risk his life to settle an old score and reunite his family. Forced to leave town after betraying Lyle Tyrus the ruthless leader of a rural crime gang Luke Cain has stayed away for 15 years to protect his wife and daughter from Lyle's vengeance. But his daughter Emily nurses a burning desire to see her father and Luke finally agrees to meet her at a cafe on the outskirts of town. But fate intervenes when Lyle's brother Norman and his killing crew chance by the cafe. They leave without incident but Luke knows it is just a matter of time before they report to Lyle and return to exact their revenge. Luke is forced to make a difficult and potentially life threatening decision. Should he leave his daughter behind again or wait for his worst nightmare to walk straight through the door only time will tell if today really is a Good day For It ! - It’s also at the Philadelphia Cinefest 2011 (April 7-14). Details at http://www.phillycinefest.org/film-details.cfm?id=9723
Change of Plans, the family movie he made for Fox TV along with Brooke White, is available for order at the Walmart site. Alas, it doesn’t appear to be for sale in stores, at least not yet. You can pre-order for around $12 at http://www.walmart.com/ip/15778093 . Alas, it will not be released until April 26th.
He did an online interview at http://pmc-mag.com/2011/03/joe-flanigan/ back in early March. And he’s going to be at Dragoncon (http://www.dragoncon.org/dc_guests_list.php) whereas I – unless I win powerball – am not. Boo hoo.
UPDATE! Listen to "JOE FLANIGAN" hosted by BuzzWorthy Radio on 4/7/2011 2:30 PM #BlogTalkRadio http://tobtr.com/s/1711271 (from @BuzzWorthyRadio via

( More on rest of cast under cut )
Update on the Stargate Atlantis folk! It's not the entire cast, but the key folk. If I've missed any news, just add it to the comments below so others can read :)
Joe Flanigan
Alas his Fox/Walmart movie CHANGE OF PLANS had lukewarm ratings although good fan reaction. It will be out on DVD at Walmart on March 22nd. Otherwise, he seems to be taking a sabbatical from Twitter, despite fans’ pokes at him to tweet.
However, he did attend the Flight and Fable gallery opening – links and more at http://wraithfodder.livejournal.com/465283.html
A video trailer came out of THE OTHER SIDE (at http://wraithfodder.livejournal.com/464413.html) and screencaps and irreverent dialogue are at http://wraithfodder.livejournal.com/464729.html
IMDB shows that his humorous scifi movie SPORE is in pre-production. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1770742/
David Hewlett
David’s RISE OF THE APES has been pushed back from a summer airing to a Thanksgiving 2011 release.
David did another podcast interview with Geekdad. You can download and listen to his interview at http://www.wired.com/geekdad/2011/01/the-geekdads-episode-83-every-games-better-with-zombies/
He’s been busy tweeting (if you have twitter and don’t follow @dhewlett, what’s wrong with you???) ;) – He noted humorously “dhewlett: Looks like there is a PIN remake in the works! Guess I better start campaigning to play my dad?! bit.ly/dPO5AC”
And he’s back to writing! “dhewlett: Thanks to chat yesterday with @Syfy I'm currently tapping away at a little something called Starcrossed...Keep those fingers crossed!”
A flashback to PIN, an odd movie David did years ago. http://www.fangoria.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3333:fango-flashback-pin&catid=59:fango-flashback&Itemid=189 An excerpt: “However what the emotionally detached Dr. Linden does not realize is that his son Leon (SPLICE’s David Hewlett) is in fact a schizophrenic with traits of disassociative personality disorder with no real friends and believes Pin is actually alive.
A photo of him recently appeared from his ‘evil snow monkeys’ movie – it’s at this journal entry - http://wraithfodder.livejournal.com/466046.html
And he’s been blogging over at Blaster.com at http://blastr.com/2011/01/david-hewlett-my-hilariou.php and it’s got a record number of comments.
Torri Higginson
Remember the SyFy movie STONEHEDGE APOCALYPSE? Well, an enterprising fan screencapped the movie, mostly for Supernatural actor Misha Collins, but she also capped Torri as well. Details and download instructions at http://community.livejournal.com/rawr_caps/270961.html and, ohmygosh, they screencap a LOT of shows… NCIS, White Collar and more!
Rachel Luttrell
Will be releasing her first album, I WISH YOU LOVE, which is scheduled for a February 2011 release. You can watch a sample video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0KX82Cj4iM
Jason Momoa
There are a number of articles on the CONAN THE BARBARIAN movie, but nothing with too much news in it (mostly comparisons to the Arnie S version). However, in an interview with actor Stephen Lang at http://collider.com/stephen-lang-interview-terra-nova/69631/, he said “And, I’ve got to say that Jason Momoa, who plays Conan, was just spectacularly good. He was terrific. He did a great job and was a real stud, and I enjoying beating the hell out of him. That was fun.”
And Jason will soon be seen in the HBO miniseries GAME OF THRONES (premieres April 17th). Here’s a quote from an interview with producers at http://www.tvsquad.com/2011/01/09/game-of-thrones/ - “And Jason Momoa [who plays Dothraki leader Khal Drogo] is just the coolest kid around.”
Kavan Smith
Will be in the Febraury 12th SyFy movie (9pm ET) called IRON INVADER, in which an alien bacteria comes to earth, animates an iron sculpture, which of course stomps the living beejesus out of the redshirts in a small town cuz it’s cheaper to have just a few people in the cast rather than a lot ;) Kavan, at least according to video at http://www.dreadcentral.com/news/42084/syfys-iron-invader-goes-viral, is one of the heroes. Paul McGillion is in the cast as well, see below.
Paul McGillion
See above. Just saw an ad for it in SyFy. Paul plays the sheriff in IRON INVADER. Somehow, that’s just about 50/50 with being a doctor and dying horribly on a SyFy movie.
David Nykl
Oh wow, he’s got a cute dinosaur picture on his January 26th entry at http://lettersfrompegasus.blogspot.com/. So visit his blog. He’s doing cons and such, but no new news to really report. Hmm, he needs to do another SyFy movie.
Rainbow Sun Francks
Plays the “computer maven” Corp. Dev Clark in this series that airs on CTV (and once aired on NBC, but got yanked due to low ratings). The Canadian series THE LISTENER comes back to CTV on February 8th.
Full press release at http://ctvmedia.ca/ctv/releases/release.asp?id=13424&yyyy=2011 and the series has a Facebook account at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=37939960589 where you can find promotional photos.
Jewel Staite
Her short horror movie THE PACT premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival (on January 24th). She plays a woman alone in a house of her late mother, and a sinister presence. More details and photos and trailers at http://www.fireflyfans.net/mthread.asp?b=36&t=47226&newsid=0
Jessica Steen
The first Dr. Weir, is in the season finale of FLASHPOINT, which will air right after the Superbowl, in Canada on CTV, not the US on CBS, alas. However, CBS will be airing more episodes of Flashpoint in the summer of 2011, and ION TV has bought the entire series, so eventually you can see all of Jessica’s episodes, when she stepped in to fill the void for six episodes when Amy Jo Johnson was pregnant and temporarily off the series. UPDATE: Just got informed by @klharris39 on Twitter that Jessica has a recurring role as the character Lisa Stillman on the Canadian tv series HEARTLAND.
And that's it!
http://community.livejournal.com/stargate_women/117722.html
a website that has, for years, auctioned off celebrity-autographed teddy bears for breast cancer research.
In this batch, you can find David Hewlett, Kate Hewlett, Torri Higginson, Jewel Staite, Rainbow Sun Francks, and others.
So, give up lattes for a few weeks and buy a bear!
Public service announcement over ;)
UPDATED: */29 - David Nykl
I’ve been collecting the Stargate Atlantis actor’s various reactions to the cancellation news. Not all have spoken up (they’re not obligated to, and neither Joe nor Jason seem to be big computer users anyway).
The U.K. tabloid “The Sun” has a Stargate Atlantis fan on staff, that, or Skiffy’s PR department is actually doing some work ;) If you go to these links, you’ll get a small amount of sensationalistic text (I mean, just look at the titles!) and video interviews!

And they promise more for tomorrow. I'm hoping it's Joe. Please, please let it be Joe Flanigan! ;)
More Comic Con stuff on both Staragte Atlantis and Stargate SG-1/Continuum, gleaned from Google blog, and other search engines.
Stargate Atlantis panel – Joe Flanigan, Jewel Staite, Robert Picardo
Stargate SG-1/Continuum panel – Richard Dean Anderson, Michael Shanks, Chris Judge, Ben Browder, Beau Bridges
Sanctuary- Amanda Tapping, Ryan Robbins
First, SciFi.com has loaded up video for the Stargate Atlantis panel at
http://www.scifi.com/comiccon/video/index.php?clip=1
Listed below the cut are all the links I’ve culled, so far, on Stargate Atlantis’ presence at Comic-Con. I did this last year, so figured, might as well it again since I’m searching for the stuff for myself J
The Los Angeles Times took 40 behind the scenes photos from Stargate Atlantis and have posted them on their site. I've posted the links for specific actor photos under the cut. Nice shots of Joe Flanigan, Jason Momoa and more, and really, not very spoilerish, so look to your heart's content :)
Check out this live journal - http://pkabyssinian.livejournal.com/441423.html - which has culled just a few samples from a site about Jedi Master Chefs. Somehow, a fan has convinced a bevy of actors to don a chef's cap and wield a lightsaber for the camera... David Hewlett, Rainbow Sun Francks, Jewel Staite and Joe Flanigan (although he just posed with the guy in the costume) are in the mix, and they link to the main site of even more photos.
Oh my gosh, yes, check out http://www.jedichefs.com/celebrities.html - Kavan Smith, Paul McGillion, David Nykl, Torri Higginson, Kate Hewlett and lots lots more!!
MGM put up a video of Jewel Staite on the Stargate Atlantis set, talking with Jerry Penacoli of EXTRA! You can find the video here:
http://stargate.mgm.com/video.php?id=105
And, below the cut you'll find over two dozen screencaps from the video. Enjoy!
Under the cut, you'll find screencaps from the People’s Choice Awards 2008 video at http://stargate.mgm.com/video.php?id=110. Joe Flanigan, David Hewlett, Rachel Luttrell and Jewel Staite all answered questions. I didn't transcribe it all, just some tidbits, as you really need to watch the video to get the nuance of the answers. They're so funny!
And SciFi.com has put up the third Stargate Atlantis video Q&A with Jewel Staite at http://video.scifi.com/player/?id=212830

[First a note: the mainstream press barely covered it – past a “they won” type mention, but you can count on fans to document the event!]
So anyway, since the news came fast and furious, it's scattered. I took some time today (during lunch and when I got home from work) and put together this compilation.

InFANity transcript
By Wraithfodder
The following is an abbreviated recap of the 35-minute TV GUIDE Channel show “Infanity,” which profiled Stargate Altantis. Actors interviewed included Joe Flanigan, David Hewlett, Rachel Luttrell, Jason Momoa, Jewel Staite and Amanda Tapping. Over 100 screencaps off an .avi file. Some potential spoiler potential with Ronon and Teal'c tidbits.

A new Interview with Jewel Staite of Stargate Atlantis (well, duh, that's all I really post about, right? <G>)
http://eclipsemagazine.com/?p=4663
excerpt:
“She’s a bit of a scaredy cat. She’s not very good in dire or violent situations. She scares easily, which is not such a good thing when you’re in the world of Atlantis. She’s really great under pressure though. I think that’s when she’s at her best, especially when she’s in her element; anything to do with medicine or a complicated medical situation she’s just there. She’s just on. She’s very, very, very smart and very focused.” That’s Jewel Staite describing her character as she talks to a group of reporters via a phone conference about her brand new role as Dr. Jennifer Keller in the fourth season of Stargate Atlantis which airs on the SCIFI Channel every Friday night at 10 pm.

The Stargate-Atlantis Comic-Con spoiler video is now available!
http://tv.yahoo.com/stargate-atlantis/show/35558/videos/3559666 has the video online. Thanks to Maureen Ryan of the Chicago Tribune for posting the link. This 2.15 minute video does contain clips from season 4, but they go by so fast, you really can't get spoiled (unless you know NOTHING of the cast changes, then, er, avoid).

has an interview with Amanda Tapping. She talks about Stargate Atlantis, SG-1 and the movies. Excerpt: MS: You just made the big switch from "Stargate SG1" to "Stargate Atlantis" this season; how is the feel of working on Atlantis as opposed to your time on SG-1? AT: Honestly, it's different. It's very different. I think that with the SG1 cast, we didn't act as seriously because we had been together so long. There was a lot of laughter and a kind of goofiness. It should be illegal how much fun we have... and get paid for doing it. With Atlantis it's fun. It's a different vibe. It's a little more serious. I still love going to work everyday. It's been so welcoming and its been very nice. It still feels different, but maybe that's because my character is in a different position so I have to sort of "step it up a bit". It feels like I'm playing a different character in some ways. I feel a little like a fish out of water.
http://www.multichannel.com/article/CA6465556.htm, journalist Mary McNamara reported… The Battlestar and Stargate events, held in Ballroom 20, were convention highlights. Sci Fi touted the women of Battlestar. The line for the panel snaked a quarter mile through the convention hallways and out onto a hot, sunny patio. Hundreds baked in the sun; thousands, apparently, were turned away. … The Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis panels were raucous, moderated by Gary Jones, a Toronto Second City improv vet who plays the beloved “GateGuy” (Chief Master Sgt. Walter Harriman) on SG-1. No such event would be complete without a fan protest. When an audience member asked the Stargate producers “what they have against doctors,” the 4,500-strong crowd roared and hundreds of little Scottish flags fluttered in the air. Earlier, a fan named Michelle from San Francisco had distributed the keepsakes in support of returning Dr. Carson Beckett (Paul McGillion) to the Atlantis cast. The character, a Scot and a medical doctor, was killed off last season. The producers tried to deflect the issue with humor. “It’s not doctors we have a problem with,” executive producer Robert Cooper quipped. “It’s Scottish people.” Atlantis showrunner Joe Mallozzi assured the crowd he loved Scottish people and instructed them to redirect their “hate e-mail to Rob Cooper. My inbox is full.” Later, in the hallways, fans dressed in kilts played a dirge on bagpipes.
