Stargate Atlantis Action Figure Theater number., er, well, al new one!

It’s been a while since I’ve done an Action Figure Theater, but a weird idea, lack of sleep, and presto, I did one! In fact, this was plastered on my door as a door decoration at MediaWest*Con 30, and it won for Best Technical, which is probably because I cut out a lot of little ballons for dialogue ;) But I was happy to hear people laughing at the door.

Once again, chockfull of graphics. And, in one box you’ll see the name Meijers. This was done specifically for MW*C attendees. Meijers is a Midwestern type Walmart store – you can basically anything there. It’s a mecca for MW*C fans upon arrival.

Stargate Atlantis Action Figure Theater: #602 “Sunday, Bloody Valentine”

Okay, a day late, a dollar short, but face it, the day after a holiday is usually dull, so you need something to perk you up. What better way than the inanity of Stargate Atlantis Action Figure Theater! Regrettably, I still do not have series 3 action figures, so if Ronon’s and Keller’s performances seem a little flat, well, can’t do much about it. ;)

Aw, shoot!

No sign of my Stargate Atlantis action figures (series 3) yet. In doing some quick google-blooging, er, blogging, discovered that some folks have these figures in their hot little hands. Darn! I have an idea for an action figure theater episode, which I suppose could work with the 'paper' versions but oh, to have a real Ronon and Keller, who aren't held up with tape and toothpicks! ;)

Anybody get theirs yet??
wraithfodder: (Default)
Ah, it would be nice to see some Stargate presence at the NY Comic Con....

However, Milo Ventimiglia, from HEROES, will be there! As will the cast of Fox's FRINGE! Too bad neither show really interests me, but I may check out their panels if I can find out where the rooms are this year ;) And J. Michael Straczynski from Babylon 5 will be there, too. However Seth Green will be there and I saw five minutes of ROBOT CHICKEN and laughed myself silly.

Unfortunately, Diamond Select Toys has again pushed back the release date for the series 3 Stargate Atlantis action figures until mid-February. Darn! Did I whine about this already? Hmm... anyway, was hoping to pick up a spare Ronon so I could beat one up in action figure theater.

Anywhere, there is a great blog that posts stuff on the con at http://www.mediumatlarge.net. Regrettably, it's where I found this video that is either really cute or makes you want to confess your bank account number if forced to watch repeatedly ;)

wraithfodder: (Shep-duh)

Darn. Stargate Atlantis is done. No more new episodes. Waaah! But, wait, no, it can live on in future episodes online. Yes! Okay, don’t have the budget of Sci Fi, but I can spin out continuity errors and bad dialogue just like the pros. Does it need a disclaimer? Why not… contains incredible special effects, award-winning dialogue, incredible NEW villains – yeah, who needs the stale old Wraith when you can have THESE guys! So, without further ado, another segment of Stargate Atlantis Action Figure Theater!

Oh yes, this has a lot of graphics, so it may time to load if you don’t have a cable modem…

Ooh, series 3 Stargate Atlantis Action Figures at Art Asylum. Just click on Sheppard to see the pretty pictures! I gotta place my pre-order this week!

Sheppard looks cool in that chair. Oh, I can do more with my little pretties in Action Figure Theater once I get them. The paper cutouts of Ronon are well, a bit flat and I can wait to do bad things to Keller ;)

Hmmmm

wraithfodder: (brain eating)

Since I actually got some e-mail alerts on my YouTube account, I decided to see if anybody was actually looking at them. I’m sorta surprised…

1,165 hits on a chipmunk eating seeds underneath John Sheppard action figure.

363 watched george the slug crawl over Rodney McKay action figure’s face

918 watched the snippet of David Hewlett from Forever Knight

1,026 watched the snippet of David Hewlett from Night Heat

495 watched a short vid of someone in VERY tight jeans in NYC

2,860 people watched a 14 second clip of of pure black with frogs croaking!

140 watched a woolly bear caterpillar flee across the patio

1,842 watched a squirrel eat the pumpkin, which I later dropped on the action figures ;)

and lastly...
60 people watched a totally black video which consisted of two dogs barking at each other on Christmas Eve

If you’re totally bored, they’re at http://www.youtube.com/user/SquirrelOnRoad ;)

wraithfodder: (McKay-I'm dead)
Regrettably, this installment is brought to you by popular demand (a handful of silly people asked “will there be a part 2?”) Unlike Stargate Atlantis, we listen to our audience! Yes, we won’t leave the audience hanging, we’ll fill in all the details you want!. Remember, you asked for this. If it gives you nightmares or destroys a few brain cells, nope, not my fault! ;)

To refresh your memory, check out Part One of this stellar installment of Stargate Atlantis Action Figure Theater, then come back here and proceed.

When we last left Rodney, he was in a pickle. Well, not a real pickle. Our special effects budget is slim, so you’ll have to make due with cranky pseudo-citrus aliens.

Or Happy Holidays, or whatever you choose :) Hope your day is joyous and mellow. :)

Meanwhile, a gift for the Stargate Atlantis Sheppard 'whump' fans on my flist. Photo under the cut for size :)

Happy whumping! )
wraithfodder: (Shep-vacant)
Wow, it totally sucks NOT to have a new Stargate Atlantis episode to watch, so what’s a person to do? Why, write your own script! Yes, another exciting installment of Stargate Atlantis Action Figure Theater! Chockful of sex, drama, intrigue and of course, bad writing! But you’ll see special effects that the actual show dare not use!

And since the Christmas holiday is just around the corner, we might as well see what the gang on Atlantis is doing for that festive day… Rated PG-13 for er, dialogue ;)

Action Figure Theater – the Holiday Edition )

wraithfodder: (ronon-faceplant)
* Headdesk * You turned on SciFi Channel on Friday and instead of getting Stargate Atlantis you got – huh?? – a marathon of “Mork and Mindy”! Just isn’t the same, is it?… so, without further ado, Stargate Atlantis Action Figure Theater fills the void with a quality, action-packed story filled with quality writing, award-winning special effects, and just a totally logical premise.

Click if you don't mind brain damage ;) ... )

Until I learn Photoshop, you'll have to deal with my Stargate Atlantis figures and a turkey beanie baby ;)

wraithfodder: (Hot guys)

Of course the Stargate Atlantis action figures had to get into the Halloween experience, even if it was sorta after. Regrettably, what is there to do with a chewed-up pumpkin but to sacrifice it to the wild tree rodents?? Chockful of weak special effects and a so-so plot, but hey, you do get a movie!

Rodney: “Great, now Woolsey is gonna get ticked off we let something attack Atlantis’ only pumpkin.”
Sheppard: “It’s not the end of the world. I’ll have Lorne just paint it over.”

But of course things never go as planned )But of course things never go as planned )
wraithfodder: (Shep-duh)
Yes, it's that time again. You're bored, nothing to do, and you well, you're too curious for your own good. So, go ahead and click on the cut, to see what trouble Sheppard and McKay have gotten themselves into. Without further ado....

ATTACK OF THE GASTROPOD! )

wraithfodder: (McKay-ouch)

Well, now that Skiffy and MGM are busying putting the nails in SGA's coffin (sorry, every time one of their execs is quoted in the press, it makes me want to throw a brick at them (my foam rubber brick from Universal Studios, that is), but... what will happen to the merchandise?

The books/novels
Magazines
Audio books
Action figures

Don't know about the first three, but there is now a direct way to ask Diamond Select Toys questions, so I think if you want to keep seeing SGA action fiugres (or beg/request/whine/grovel for a particular one, here are the details)

http://www.artasylum.com/question

Once a month, Art Asylum selects a single topic and then group of questions submitted from the fans that go with it. Then, we answer them in the Q&A Blog.

So ask; about what you want to see made, questions for the artists, whatever.

I would say that if anytime is the time to ask about SGA action figures, now is the time, to show the market is still there and we wont' shut up unti we get Becktet, Lorne, Zelenka, Chuck and a few red-shirt anonymous security guard action figures ;)

You can find some questions already answered on

wraithfodder: (Shep-duh)

I did this last week, but forgot to load….

The 3H’s. HOT. HUMID. HAZY. 95+ temps and we’re all turning into melting slugs. Even the squirrels are just sitting on the road, dazed, going ‘huh?’ as you drive right up to them and honk the horn – several times - THEN they get out of the way before becoming a gray pancake.

So, what is there to do but melt? Wait, wait, a tiny bit of begging and yes, we’re going to the pool! Of course, the ‘boys’ just simply must come.

wraithfodder: (Shep-duh)
MGM never releases all the photos from the episodes of Stargate Atlantis. More's the pity. However, this one from the season 5 episode episode "Broken Ties" fell through the cracks ;) Poor Rodney....

wraithfodder: (Shep-duh)

Yes, it was a hot weekend and fortunately a friend's pool was avaialble, so, hey, why not bring along the guys for a little trip. So the Stargate Atlantis heroes became poolboys, sorta. *cough*

Without further ado...

A Day at the Pool with Sheppard and McKay

It’s a beautiful day, the wraith aren’t bugging them, and it’s hot, so Sheppard and McKay decide to cool off in the local swimming pool. (What? You thought Atlantis didn't come with a pool? Of course it does!)

wraithfodder: (Default)
The producers, after much discussion, wisely decided to delete one scene from the season 5 Stargate Atlantis episode, "Search & Rescue." But, you can never hide things once they get to the web. No spoilers, so you can peak. *cough* However, there is Shep whump...

Stuck under cut for size.

wraithfodder: (McKay-I'm dead)

Who would have thought a cheesey little video of a chipmunk noshing on seeds and nudging Sheppard's butt would pull in 289 hits on YouTube! Guess this means i should stick up the other video of Rodney being attacked by the chipmunk.  Yes, there's Rodney whump!

Please note: this video is guaranteed to kill about 30 seconds of time... ;)

wraithfodder: (Shep-stealth)

Yes, it's a few days until an actual brand-new episode airs on SciFi (never mind it hit the internet a few weeks ago so half the viewers have probably seen it). Anyway, for those avoiding spoilers, and have no taste in entertainment, here's the perfect solution! No spoilers for season 5, although, you get your very first peek of the Stargate Atlantis Teyla, Ronon and Wraith drone action figures!!*

Sheppard and McKay sit on top of a toasty warm but old styled energy-sucking computer monitor, waiting for their fate to be decided…

Sheppard: “So, what do you think will happen to us this time?”
McKay:” I don’t know, but I hope it doesn’t include this beaver!”

wraithfodder: (McKay did it)
A friend from the midwest came in for a weekend visit, and wanted to go into the city (aka New York City, the Big Apple) so.... Sheppard and McKay came along (said friend is a fan who got a kick out of it).

On the commuter train into the city, the squabbling can be heard (well, not over the cellphone users)...
Sheppard: "You know this seat is big enough for the two of us, in fact, I could fit Lorne and his team and a jumper, so why don't you move over."
McKay: "Hey I was here first and it's a window seat."

wraithfodder: (McKay did it)
Bored? Okay, then waste a few mintues watching a chipmunk harrass Sheppard and McKay from Stargate Atlantis. Hey, at least these action figures are getting some action! ;)

For the story behind this, check out Jurassic Atlantis.

wraithfodder: (Shep-Ouch)

Basically everyone has seen the new promo shots for season 5 of Stargate Atlantis, with the odd poses of the gang on the steps as though they're posing for that Captain Morgan rum ad. Anyway, here's one example:

Anyway, here's an example of how these publicity poses can actually be worked into an episode plot! Yes, it IS possible!*

* Of course, it requires a bit of substandard writing and really pushing any plausbility, but this is scifi, so what the heck!

wraithfodder: (critter-scream)
 Noooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ack, there was even an airhole punched in the box when he arrived via the US postal system, but alas, when I cracked it open. No, he was dead. Stiff as a board, tinged blue, and did it help he was wrapped up in plastic?

Alas, poor Steve, I knew him well.

Yes, my Steve the Wraith action figure arrived today! ;)  Oooh, maybe if I have time I can stage some more 'plays' with the guys *cackle*

And yea, there was a nice hole punched right in the box. Fortunately, no damage to Steve. Phew.
wraithfodder: (Shep-oh crap)

Well, it’s still a few weeks till season 5 of Stargate Atlantis starts, but in the meantime, enjoy Sheppard and McKay’s new exciting adventure! No, I’m not ripping off any movies. It’s an ‘homage’ *cough* …. Rating: PG-13 (for one or two inappropriate words). Bunch of photos, so may take a while to load.

wraithfodder: (McKay-manly hug)
Well, might as well share the whump. It's McKay's turn today ;) Amazing what you can do with simple office supplies...

wraithfodder: (Sheppard-happy hour)

Specifically designed for Sheppard whump fans! It's even hotter today than yesterday, so I went into the cool depths of the basement and took some pictures ;)

wraithfodder: (McKay did it)

It’s a little over a month until season 5 of Stargate Atlantis premieres, and some fans are probably desperate for any kind of story. So, here it is! And hey, this plot hasn’t been ripped off SG-1 or a major motion picture. Oh, no spoilers of any kind.

So without further ado, check out…

STARGATE ATLANTIS: “A Sticky Situation”
wraithfodder: (Default)

Okay, this is what happens when people forgot to water a plant while you're on vacation, so, it gets its swan song before going out in the compost heap... and you also figure your Stargate Atlantis action figures should earn their room and board ;)

wraithfodder: (Teyla - my eyes)
Yes, as promised, here is the much vaulted, much anticipated (by at least 2-3 people) story of how the Stargate Atlantis action figures John Sheppard and Rodney McKay fared on their trip to the annual MediaWest*Con convention. Enjoy!

wraithfodder: (exterminate)

MEDIAWEST*CON 2008

Another year gone. Sigh. Now it’s back to reality. Blech.

But here’s my report, from what I can remember. Oh, for those who don’t know, MediaWest*Con is a fan-run convention that is just fans. No actors, no guests, although we have had some actors attend as fans! The con runs from Friday noon till Monday morning, but fans tend to come in Wednesday night now and some fanzines sell out before the con even starts. It started in the ‘70s and is still going. If you’re interested in attending, check out their official site at http://members.aol.com/MdiaWstCon/mwc.htm

wraithfodder: (Sheppard-happy hour)
I went to my first honest-to-gosh Comic Con in New York City today. I've done a ton of conventions over the years, some comic ones included, but have never been to one with thousands and thousands of people. It was held at the Javitts Center in Manhattan, and was, in my eyes, very well run. Creation Convention should take heed of how to run lines. We stood in line for about an hour but were never bored, as every once in a while, rather excitable and energetic volunteers in yellow shirts with boxes in hands would run around and toss freebies into the crowd. I'd say that overall, the crowd was predominantly male (70%?) and average age was 25 or so. Lots of black t-shirts of all kinds.

If you go to a Comic Con, be prepared to walk, and walk, and walk! The Javitts Center exhibition hall is HUGE! After three hours of going down aisle after aisle, my friend and I realized that we were only halfway done. Yes, you really  need one full day to prowl down every aisle and check out all the wares. I found Diamond Select Toys (DST)  fairly early on, after salivating after a huge Godzilla (original 1963 issue) which cost over $1,000, so.... quite a bit out of my paycheck. I took lots of photos instead. Anyway, I purchased Field Ops Sheppard and Series 1 Wraith, and Matt, the very nice guy running the booth when I went there, told me I was halfway toward getting enough barcode doohickes (ah, the term escapes my tired mind) to get myself a Steve the Wraith! Anyway, I stuffed the two toys in my knapsack and decided to prowl some more, as I wasn on the hunt for Daleks as well.

Check out the cut below for an exclusive picspam of the Stargate Atlantis series 3 Diamond Select Toys action figures :)

wraithfodder: (Shep-duh)

Although I'm a Shep fan first, I really wanted a McKay doll too...

http://toynewsi.com/index.php?itemid=11158

Here is a lool at the first series of Diamond Select Toys' Stargate Atlantis figures. Included in this wave are Colonel Sheppard, Black Ops Weir (Chase Figure), Dr. Elizabeth Weir, and Male Wraith. There is also a Previews Exclusive Blacks Ops Sheppard figure. Each figure comes with a piece of the figure-sized Atlantis-style Stargate! Look for these to be released in August 2007.

Has two pictures - Shep and two Weirs and a Wraith and a larger Black Ops Shep

So, click on link above for the action figures. They'e even got Shep's smirk down pat ;) Go the site above for the larger image of the shot below.
