Found a great story in which McKay's sister - and Sheppard's brother - happen to cross paths.

My brother can kick your brother's ass

Title: My Brother Can Kick Your Brother's Ass

Author: Sqweakie

Fandom: Stargate Atlantis

Characters: David Sheppard and Jeannie McKay

Genre: Gen, Character Study

Cliché: Relative Values: Families

Rating: PG (for language)

Word Count: over 3000
AN: First time dipping my toes in the SGA Fandom.  Hopefully this will bring my writing muses back. Didn’t get as much ass-kicking as I wanted but I’m happy with where it went. Set after Season 4. For Cliché Bingo on LJ.

Loads of fun :)

wraithfodder: (Shep-bug)

Getting my list of Stargate Atlantis fan fiction stories I enjoy (mostly Sheppard whump, what can I say?) as listed in entry (http://wraithfodder.livejournal.com/345802.html) Okay, since I can’t post it here due to size (it’s a Word document, 31 pages landscape in table format), drop me an email at wraithfodder at gmail.com and I think I’ll be shipping it to anyone interested this weekend. Oh, it’s about 1,100kb in size too if that makes a difference.

Anyway, some recs as I did pause to do some reading…. All are gen.

SGA fanfic recommendations )
wraithfodder: (critter-scream)
Yes, I'm watching a reality show, cuz there's nothing new on, I'm paying bills, and decided to see Lou Diamond Phillips on NBC's "I'm a Celebrity.. Get Me Out of Here!" I only hope he wins as he seems to be the most level-headed of the crew. I must admit, if I were there, Heidi and Spencer would be shoved into a lake filled with hungry reptiles. Argh. I'm blind! Good lord, did Stephen Baldwin fall asleep and get attacked by graffiti artists? Anyway, alas, they can't do away with celebrities, although I sure as heck can't see this show doing any good for the aforementioned idiots (Heidi and Spencer). Hm, perhaps having done several campy/crappy flicks for SciFi Channel has steeled LDP or this nonsense. Plus he looks like he's the only one in pretty decent shape.

Meanwhile, I'm still working on my Stargate Atlantis Fan Fic Recommendations page, cuz I was woefully behind, by, er, oh, all of 2009. Plus i printed out some and said "gotta read!" And I've discovered a bunch of bookmarks on two different PCs, plus links/self-contained stories off the SGAHC Yahoo group - and if you're a whumper, you had definitely better be on that list!  But that will take forever but I want to at least get it in better shape before sending it off. And then figure out how to send it since it's now a 30+ page WORD document.

Lastly, you must visit this site - http://opentravel.com/blogs/ten-most-unreal-landscapes-on-earth/ - which has very cool photos. I love the 'gate to hell' - I mean, looking at these photos makes me think about writing SGA whump fanfic!
wraithfodder: (Default)
At the Stargate Atlantis fan fiction panel at MediaWest*Con last weekend, I said, sure, email me and I'll send you my list. I'll still do it, but I think it's gonna take a couple weeks to update it as I realized I hadn't done any updating since, gulp, Christmas! So, I'll be organizing and inputting for a while to come, but if anybody wants it when I'm done, just let me know.
wraithfodder: (Shep-oh crap)
Brand-new movies for the Stargate Atlantis cast. Yes, it’s true! Well, no, it’s not, but after watching “Yeti” on the Sci Fi Channel today, I realized … wow, any birdbrain can write a movie! So, here are some just  fantastic* new movie plots that I’m sure Skiffy will jump at in an instance! I’ve even taken the liberty of casting the parts, just so Skiffy doesn’t muck it up. And aren’t the Stargate Atlantis folk looking for work? How could they pass up gems like this??

wraithfodder: (Zelenka-WTF)
Gah, my morning plans went to heck cuz I did a virus check on the PC (clean) but decided, oh, let's just check LJ for a moment, got sucked into reading a great team / Shep whump story - Road Trip by [livejournal.com profile] liketheriverrun . Run on over and read. Anyway, I almost made the mistake of turning on the TV to check the weathe r(why I bothered, I don't know, it's just COLD COLD COLD and the ice will never melt!) and oh hey, it's Pteradactyl with David Nykl. Well, another five minutes of him before he, er, uh, *cough*, departs.

Anyway, lessons for being in a scifi movie...
1) When people tell you ... don't go there, don't open that, etc. you should listen, cuz otherwise you die die die (well, most of the characters).
2) No matter how remote the area, the women always dress in next to nothing (hot pants, tight tank tops). however, this means less clothing for the pteradactyl to rip off to eat the lady, so I suppose there's that perverse reasoning.
3) no matter how bad the aliens (pteradactyls, giant nessies), the baby ones are soooooo cute that you can forgive them for eating a character or three.
4) there's no logic to the casting of rap stars as the leaders of black op type military teams. I mean, does anyone that far up the chain of command go 'yo'??
5) there's no shortage of bad movies on sci fi, but this one - due to Cameron Daddo, David Nykl, and adorable baby pteradacyls, is worth time to watch ;)

Off to run errands. Gah, ice. Must skate over to the car. Wish me luck!
wraithfodder: (Shep-Vegas)
I figured since I was out searching for them, might as well share the fruits of my labor. ;)  So here are links to a bunch of fanfic tags for the Vegas” episode of “Stargate Atlantis.”  Now, I know this can’t be all that's out there, and these are all basically 'gen'. If there are others, feel free to post in the comments below (just note if they’re gen or slash). Thanks!

Author: Wraithfodder

Rating: PG-13 for some graphic imagery

Category: Gen, drama

Spoilers: BIG spoilers for season 5 episode “The Prodigal”

Summary: I really thought that “The Prodigal” deserved a special tag, and this idea just got stuck in my head until I wrote it down…

wraithfodder: (Shep-awesome)
Eegads, I checked my Friends thread and there's a virtual whumpfest at

http://community.livejournal.com/sgahcchallenges/

If you're into Shep whump, boot the cat off th kebyoard and rush over!  And another sapling or two dies as I print these gems out :)

wraithfodder: (Weir smile)

Since they're from  me, of course, predominantly Shep whump and gen :) Just went through the latest stack of Stargate Atlantis fanfiction I printed off to read.

Details under the cut )

Author’s Notes: I blame Sci Fi/ MGM for this story, since I wrote it in reaction to their, well, narrow-minded decision. * cough *

Horror and Hope

A twisted tale of Stargate Atlantis whump and…

Gen, no pairings, PG-13, copyright to author, no copyright infringement meant

Summary: Sheppard just can’t catch a break. Whump, of course.
Sheppard struggled to awareness, his mind seeking out the steady beep-beep that floated along his consciousness like a distant early warning system.  )
wraithfodder: (Default)
Yeah, don't you wish there was such a book? But anyway, I've been meaning to do this for a while, just grab the stack of stories that sit next to my bedside, which I love to read when the mood strikes (in between all those books on spiders and parasites and whatnot ;) and list 'em.

This list is in no particular order, and I really do have to through the boxes of stories I actually organized at one point, to see what else is in there that I'd include in this category. There are so many good authors/stories out there, but these are ones that just make me go all warm and fuzzy when reading 'em ;)

wraithfodder: (McKay-this is cool)
Yes, it's HOT outside today. Ack, I'm melting. So, it means it's time to play again with John and Rodney, my two favorite Stargate Atlantis action figures....  *evil cackle*

And although it's not a sequel to the action figure fanfic "A Sticky Situation," click on the link for a blooper photo from the pictorial story!

wraithfodder: (McKay did it)

It’s a little over a month until season 5 of Stargate Atlantis premieres, and some fans are probably desperate for any kind of story. So, here it is! And hey, this plot hasn’t been ripped off SG-1 or a major motion picture. Oh, no spoilers of any kind.

So without further ado, check out…

STARGATE ATLANTIS: “A Sticky Situation”

Was at a panel on Stargate Atlantis and we were discussing 'crackfic' and I happened to mention this crazy fun story about Sheppard and team being attacked by alien kitchen appliances.

Well, found it, and it's at

Very fun read!

wraithfodder: (due south)
Coded up several more Due South stories I penned eons (okay, a decade) ago when the show was still airing on CBS.

Due South Fan Fiction here

Added in :
  Curses
  Foul Days
Ho, Ho, Woof (a totally warped Christmas story)
  Journey's End ("North" tag)

Enjoy!
wraithfodder: (due south)
This is all [livejournal.com profile] kodiak_bear's fault. ;)

Yup, she posted about DUE SOUTH on her LJ and that got me to thinking about that show and fandom, way way back in the last century (okay, 1996 or thereabouts). And I realized, hmm, I wrote fanfic on that. The archive that hosted it is long dead, but fortunately being a packrat has its advantages. Dug up a box of diskettes and came to realize I've got over two dozen stories I could repost and share.

So, posted one and hope to post some each week, but that depends on everything else I still gotta do. All my stories are gen, PG-13 at the most in ratings.

Anyway, here the first:

ALONE
An apartment building catches on fire, and Fraser suffers an immense loss. Meanwhile, Vecchio must deal with an unusual crime spree.

I'm sitting there minding my own business, plowing through the ton of email I get from folk, when I see this email that says "Attention Nominees," which I'm ready to dismiss as junk mail that crept through the spam filter, till I see who it came from.

I got nominated?? Whoa! Wow!! Discovered some kind folks nominated the following stories (gen):

Blood

Consequences

McKay's Revenge

Big thanks to the folks who liked my stories :):)
wraithfodder: (Shep-duh)
Yes, I'm actually sitting here watching what will no doubt be a gawdawful movie - ICE SPIDERS - on SciFi. When you're ten minutes into hte film and someone says "it's gnarly", you know you're not watching Emmy material. Plus these scifi flicks usually star people who once were stars, sort of, on TV (well, fortunately, Stephen Baldwin isn't in this one).  The hero is an ex-skier down on his luck now teaching skiing (typical hard luck scifi tale). None of the teenagers can speak without saying gnarly, shred or other skiing lingo. They'll all die horribly. Okay, half of them will.

Filmed in Europe no doubt (film those ski movies before there are no snowy mountains left due to global warming!) so that's the only plus to the flick. Meanwhile, giant CGI spiders are roaming the ski resort picking off people. You know, it's 15 minutes into the film and that B&W flick with teenagers waking up the petrified spider found in the local cave with evil rock 'n' roll music is looking pretty good right now. Biggest problem with these flicks is you don't care who dies. If it wasn't for the location scenary, lack of alternate programming, laziness, I'd change the channel. Okay, the remote is ten inches away. Some stupid skier just crashed in a pile of screaming glory so I'm waiting for the spider to suck him dry. I'm soooo bad.

Big mistake of the day: cracking open the dark chocolate cranberry bar, which I suddenly discovered is not the Bog Berry nuts-cranberries in dark chocolate bar, but a bar filled with cranberry filling. I can't nurse this for a week. I must consume it all this weekend or else it will just ooze and leak cranberry filling. Ah, the sacrifices one must make.

In the good and bad of TV: watched a very good C-SPAN Q&A with the CDC about the TB guy. CDC doc lady was sharp - government guy questioning her wasn't. And then there's the Paris Hilton bruhaha. Aieee....

Have accumulated all my not-yet-finished Stargate Atlantis fanfiction and I have, um, er, over a dozen stories in progress not yet finished. I really should. Really.

Just two more weeks and the gates are toast for a while (I suspect Skiffy will be stupid and not repeat any SGA episodes while we get constant repeats of SG1, which isn't bad, but I think I"ve seen 'em all three dozen times over). But, new DR WHOs, new EUREKAs, and USA is bringing back 4400, which I rather like.

Did Paul McGilian's LOCH NESS ever air on Skiffy? Was it so bad I missed it?? And David Nykl should be done filming Beast from Bottomless Lake or something like that -check his blog (I've got him on links). Sounds pretty bad, but he's the star! He won't torn in half like in his last Skiffy flick.

Bored

Decided it's time to change the format of the LJ, but will eventually figure out how to add in a neat shot of Sheppard or McKay or something Atlantis-ey... ;) So decided this current purple 'tiki' was as close to Tahiti as I could get, although might move back to 'raven' as that's dark and cool too.

Meanwhile, waiting (tapping feet impatiently ;) ) for the conclusion of As I Lay Dying by T'Pring, a great Shep whump fic. If you haven't seen it, and don't mind a work in progress, check it out.

Trying to figure out how to insert/use SGA mood themes I plucked from, uh, er, I really need to write this stuff down, or write it down somewhere I won't lose it... plus gotta remember to renew the paid sub to the LJ (after the vet, after stupid auto emissions, and all those wonderful bills I can't avoid).

And "Submersion" is tomorrow's SGA episode. Have already seen it via, um, alternate means from Canada (thanks to unnamed third party) and can't wait to see it on the pseudo-big screen, well, the TV. Gee, just three season 3 SGA episodes left, then a dearth of episodes (and I'm sure it will include repeats the way Skiffy treats the show) until the Fall, which means sometime between September and December.  Hopefully sooner than later!

And here's part two. Complete.

TITLE: NIGHT TERRORS
Rating: PG-13
Spoilers: Set in early season one

SUMMARY: Sheppard uncovers some, er, unusual activities on Atlantis.

Totally amazing how you can write a story and then lose it on the computer. I wrote this light piece back in season one, so might as well post it now :)

TITLE: NIGHT TERRORS
Rating PG-13
Spoilers: Set in season one, gen

Summary: Sheppard uncovers some, er, unexpected activities on base.

wraithfodder: (McKay-ouch)
I wrote a quick piece of Stargate Atlantis fanfiction after hearing the latest casting news/spoilers on season 4 (why they deny this stuff when they put it in magazines is beyond me). So, if you want to avoid ALL spoilers, hmm, don't read, but there are no real spoilers - as everybody does know which person from SG1 is being imported to SGA, right?

Anyway...

wraithfodder: (Default)
I'd penned this short piece of fiction after the season 3 episode of STARGATE ATLANTIS aired. It's a missing scene to "The Real World," and it contains spoilers :)

wraithfodder: (Default)
Well, sure as heck wasn't good luck for Buffalo, NY. Turned on the boob tube and they're talkling two FEET of snow. ACK! IT's not even Halloween yet!

Other inane snippets gleaned off news before consumption of coffee which would make me think better... Madonna adopts a kid (TV reports goes "are oprhans the latest celebrity accessory?") which makes me think of Paris Hilton and her rotating pets (ah, doggie got too big? ditch it!).

Well, I was thinking about checking out CBS's Smith, but it got axed in what, two weeks? Oh well. NBC killed KIDNAPPED, which I never got around to watching, but will replace it with MEDIUM, which I will watch. Of the programs, JERICHO is okay, but it seems very LOST-like and I don't know if that's going to hold my attention. However, the most fun show I've seen in a long time is ABC's UGLY BETTY, which is a scream (thanks to the Chicago Tribune for recommending it - I woudn't have bothered otherwise). I just realized, it's the ONLY show on ABC that I watch!

Was cringing at last night's CSI - it was good, but.... well, Greg gets the crap beaten out of him and it's night, yet by the time Sara arrives, the sun has risen. He's just lying there on the pavement like a corpse, but he's still alive. Where are the paramedics? ARGH! Big continuity error as the police dispatcher said backup would arrive in five minutes and come on, the cops would at least cover him with a blanket, not leaving him lying on the cold pavement for hours! Bangs head on keyboard in frustration. But, hey, at least I saw them use the bedrails on E.R. ;)

David Hewlett's busy updating his website. (www.dgeek.com) He's commenting on fan comments on his site ;)

Been trying to keep up with SGA fanfic.... following lots of WIPs. Just got finished with NotTasha's Among the Stars (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3174179/1/) which is a great Rodney whump / Shep angst piece with plot, excitements, explosions and more.

Ack, gotta go to work.
wraithfodder: (Default)

This story is a scream! You'll snort coffe, soda, whatever your'e drinking, straight out of your nose if you read it while eating, so if you're eating/drinking, make sure the keyboard's got a plastic cover.

SUMMARY One of Sheppard’s team pays a dreadful price during a trade negotiation.

wraithfodder: (Epiphany)
No, that's not the name of a story. I just don't have time to read it all or write it all.

First, the novelization Halycon just arrived. I want to read it NOW, but... I shall force myself to save it for lunch hour. Yes, boring lunch hour.

Secondly, reading some great stories online, and I recommend Shep whumpers, etc. to check 'em out. They're all still be posted but I can't resist reading them piece by piece.

Deus Ex Machina  - http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3118744/1/  by B7Kerravon - a nice post-"Trinity" story of stress, tension and two scientists and a colonel stuck in a haunted lighthouse. Nothing can go wrong, right? Heh!

Honor Bound http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3117307/1/ by Baroqy - Sheppard goes missing for two weeks and comes back, and he wasn't at a day spa. Angst, Shep whump. Good team interaction.

At What Cost - http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3084032/1/ - Caught in the middle of a bloody civil war, Sheppard and Beckett become separated from the rest of the offworld team. When a rescue team returns, only Sheppard is found. Ronon takes it upon himself to remain behind and search for the physician. Now, I'm not into Beckett whump, but I find the storyline and characterization quite appealing (and oh yeah, Shep did get whumped).

World of Hurt - Consequences - http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3128070/1/ - A "Common Ground" (spoilers) tag that just started. I swore I would stay awau from all CG tags till I finished mine - which frankly, is nothing more than a compilation of scribbled shorthand, so I broke. Quite good!

And well, I've got other stories I recommend but these are the ones I just checked on today. :)
