It's sort of a cookie cutter response from writers -I've seen this done in other shows in which a character is cut and the replacement is brought in - that the new character is shown in a valiant light, so that the other characters go 'Oh, he/she is okay." To just state it simply. Hopefully the writers have made their point and Carter will stay back on Atlantis and not going flying off to rescue the team every time they get into trouble (which is a prerequisite for both SG1 and SGA).
