Came here because I've seen you around Sholio's/friendshipper's LJ and I go to her LJ because she's friend's with Derry who's a good mate of mine. (Uh, hope that's not overtly confusing...)
I really liked all the points you raised. I agree with most of them.
I'm probably not very big on nitpicking and I hardly notice clothes on females... so Sam's outfit didn't even make me blink. I do have big interests in the boys of course, so I notice everything about them. :D
I love the John-Rodney friendship and yes, I slash them too. You touched on the points that I liked - the fact that both of them would help each other out without any doubts made me a very happy fangirl. And that wasn't even from a slash perspective - I genuinely love their friendship.
I actually personally joked with some friends that maybe Keller was trying to perform CPR on John's abdomen because ripping off pads from Joe Flanigan's hairy chest may hurt a bit more... whereas Hewlett has marginally less hair!
I loved Kate (and also as a blonde) and was hugely disappointed by her demise. I had wanted her character to keep re-appearing....
The John-Teyla hug made me smile because I really like the idea of Sheppard reaching out to comforting a friend even reluctantly or hesitantly. It's something I really like about the character... the holding back of emotions.
