Do you have only 1 cat? We used to have only 1, and he only made 1 sound really. Then when we got a 2nd, and then a 3rd (and that's it), they each had their own sounds. But what was interesting is that each cat would pick up on the sounds that the others were making such that now all three have a much wider range of sounds than each one did by itself. They learned by example!
