It is, Interlopers by Alan Dean Foster. I currently work in an audio book store, so I know, that, James Marsters has read at least one book. And I know Michael Shanks has done audiobooks before as well (that one I don't remember the title, it's at a different location so I can't look it up) (and why no, I'm not at work!)
