I'm not sure whose brainy idea it was to blow up Beckett, but killing characters to push for ratings just doesn't work. What happens is you start to alienate the audience, cuz if you keep killing people, the audience is going to lose interest.

What I'd like to see is some new writers coming on board, not just SG1 writers moving over (which caused the loss of some fledging writers, like Ken Cuperus, who wrote the fan favorite "Common Ground"). And they need some women on staff, too.
