From a ton of folks - as WF and I have been talking - their "Grand Scheme" of shaking things up by killing off not one, but TWO primary characters doesn't garner them new fans, in fact, it drives the fans away.
But, gee, from reading some of JM's comments on his blog, he doesn't act like he really wants the show to go on anyway. He'd much rather go work on wreck something new. *rolls eyes*
We need women writers on the show to get past the lack of subtlety from the Boys Only Club, and the "let's kill off characters for ratings!"
Uhm, sorry, this isn't Dallas or Dynasty - the fan base gets mightily upset when you mess w/ the status quo. :-p
