Truthfully, have no idea how they select which character will be a regular, which recurring. The doctor is sort of a standard in scifi show, heralding back to 'Bones' McKay, er, McCoy (sorry) in STAR TREK. As long as they continue to utilize Lorne and Zelenka in a regular recurring capacity, and don't kill them, I'm okay, becuase making Beckett a regular sure didn't help him, did it?
