Siamese cats tend not to like being held, they have a naturally grumpy temperament I think. I have the opposite problem with my two, its a case of trying to stop them clambering on your lap, they just constantly want cuddles. My tom cat is just a big softie you can pick him up turn him upside down, give him bear hugs and he'll still keep purring.
