The big problem now that I don't live in the Midwest is that every year, I go to the International Congress on Medieval Studies in Kalamazoo--two weeks before MediaWest. I just can't fly to Michigan twice in May, and at this point in my life, I can't stay the intervening two weeks! I should have gone when I lived in the area, but I always thought "next year"!
