Geez, major power outage in San Francisco took out LiveJournal, Craiglist, NetFlix, etc. although it seems LJ was the last to get back up (possibly because the others are more business oriented? but wait, I shelled out cold hard cash for my LJ - I want it back!) Oh wait, it is. But I was typing this up while it wasn't...

Stargate Atlantis stuff....

Ah, David Hewlett has outlined his schedule for Comic-Con at his blog
http://www.adogsbreakfastmovie.com/content/view/137/35/

he's even doing ADB signings. Waah! Wanna go! Blast, darn, curses.  Meanwhile, Kate (his sister) has joined the Twitter craze at http://twitter.com/katehewlett as well as updating her own blog, twittering on about Twitter at http://loft-in-translation.blogspot.com/2007/07/im-officially-twit-ohhhh-dear.html

Oooh....http://www.syfyportal.com/news423940.html breaks down the 2007 SyFy Genre Awards and said "He may not be MacGyver, but Joe Flanigan has almost become the Richard Dean Anderson of "Stargate: Atlantis." Making an impression in the midst of some very entertaining characters is hard, but Flanigan still stands out as a leading man, and will soon lead us into the fourth season of that show." And Joe Mallozzi reported on his blog that Joe Flanigan will be appearing at Comic-Con, so that means, Joe, David Hewlett, and Amanda Tapping from SGA will be there to represent the show.

Sat through all of EUREKA, which I do enjoy, but no joy on the SGA ad. Darn. But, David Nykl was in it, playing a mad scientist of sort (mad only because he has experiments in his basement). In fact, he's such a nice guy he condoned his wife's affair! Wish he'd had a bigger role, but I'll have to wait for the scifi flick he did that will air on SciFi Channel one of these years...

Oh, purchased Stargate SG-1 season 10 on DVD today. Nice set. They had an insert which featured ARK OF TRUTH, the complete SG1 series out on DVD in October, and yes!, promo stuff for A DOG' S BREAKFAST too! :)

Or whoever you'd like, but if you're reading this LJ, you probably like Stargate Atlantis.

http://www.syfyportal.com/genre-awards/2007/ has opened up their SyFy Genre Awards and Joe Flanigan, as mentioned in the previous post, is up for Best Actor-Television. He's got some good competition! Rules are: Voting is open from July 25, 2007 to August 25, 2007. Come back and vote each day, but please, just one vote per IP address per 24-hour period. So, vote away!

Snipped from the July 25th entry of Joe Mallozzi's blog: “…..when we return on Monday. By then, I’ll be well-rested, tanned, and the proud owner of a French bulldog (who we’re hoping to pick up late Sunday afternoon). As it turns out, I’ll be in good company. Turns out Mr. Flanigan owns a Frenchie as well, and has actually had occasion to take it surfing….” Don't think this will turn up on Stargate Atlantis ;)

I've seen dogs surf (on TV shows) but never bulldogs.

…and Michael Shanks' epic herpetological movie, MEGASNAKE, airs on SciFi on July 28th (this Saturday!) [Corrected to August 25th, darn, so far away] So if you missed getting to Comic-Con, you can watch him in what will probably be another forgettable giant CGI snake flick, but it did get him his green card to work in the States… I suspect the movie will be AWFUL but that won’t stop me from watching it.

Back when it was cold and snowy, or at least cold, in January, somebody who wasn't thinking stuck up several very long video interviews with David Hewlett, Brad Wright and RC Cooper. Of course, a day or so later, MGM yanked 'em down as they contained spoilers, like, oh, Carson Beckett DIES. Oops.

Anyway, MGM has been dribbilng out little video bytes from those long interviews, and #7 of 7 with David Hewlett has come out.  It's available at http://stargate.mgm.com/video.php?id=47

Anyway, I'd remembered him talking about how much fun Paul McGillion, but sadly forgot about how much he extolled the fun of having Torri Higginson around. It's really sorta ironic or at least sad to watch these videos now (from what I could judge, they were made around the holiday in 2006, so possibly Christmas or Thanksgiving??)

Anyway, you can read the transcript or watch the video or both. David sure does love that shirt as I've seen it in other photos too....
