So the con was at the Clarion? The only reason I'm asking is because I'm THINKING of going to the Creation Supernatural con in Cherry Hill in March and it would be my FIRST EVER con. I'm SUPER nervous, because I always said that I would NEVER go to a con, but, it's only three hours away, by car, so I sort of don't think that I can resist. The hotel, as of now, that's listed, is the Crowne Plaza, I think. The reviews, online, are kinda iffy, and they sound like what you're saying. In fact, from what I've heard, most of the hotels that Creation hosts cons at sound like this.
My question for you, if you don't mind me asking, is what were the rates? The rates, on Expedia at least, for the Crowne are, averaged $112-$120 a night, but, I could get a better rated hotel, 9 miles away, for about $20 cheaper a night. Creation claims that because they host the con at the hotel that the hotel has reduced rates for con-goers, but I'm not really sure how much cheaper they could be, and if any price could be worth the stuff I've been reading (noise at all hours, mold, holes in the carpet, rude staff, finding hairs on the beds, pretty nasty stuff).
The only downside, obviously, would be that I'd have to commute every night and, from what everyone tells me, a lot of the fun with the cons is hanging with the fellow fans wee into the night and not getting lots of sleep, but I would be dragging my husband with me, so I'd have a decent excuse to bow out early, if necessary. With all of the stuff that went down, what would you suggest?
