Well, the Iratus bugs evolved into Wraith through eating humans, didn't they? And crab DNA has to have an easier time to incorporate humanoid insects than insects mixing with humans. Anyway the old adage "you are what you eat" holds more true in Pegasus. And the retrovirus stuff in Michael could speed up things even more considering how mutable Carsons concotions make DNA in the SGA universe.
